A little tight

Anonymous, Newegg
4 May 2008
  • Summary: Newer optical drives that are fairly short fit the best, the older ones that are longer will end up covering half of the top of the fan on the processor. A shorter power supply with modular power connections is almost a must.
  • Pros: Perfect size for the entertainment center. Only 14 inches deep. Plenty of room for the longest video cards.
  • Cons: Only real con is no place to mount a fan for the hard drives (resolved w/ Thermaltake A2427 hard drive cooler). Its only 14 inches deep and its for a mico atx mainboard so the left side by the power supply and hard drives is crampped. But to be expected.

Excellent HTPC case

Anonymous, Newegg
8 April 2008
  • Summary: Yes, it is a tight fit inside, but hey, this is a HTPC case. And to the person who complained about the size of the s c r e w s, once again, this is a HTPC case. And finally, to the person who complained about how shallow this case is, this is ... you get the idea.
  • Pros: This thing is QUIET, has a nice, clean look to it and is solid as a rock. My first Silverstone case (and first HTPC build) and I have to say I am impressed by the quality. Unlike some other reviewers I had no problems with the install of my BD Rom drive. Eject button matched up perfectly (after a...
  • Cons: Not really a con, but the layout (placement of CD/DVD/BD drive mounting bracket) means you are extremely limited in terms of what kind of aftermarket CPU cooler you can use. Make sure you measure the clearance before making any decisions.

Pretty to look at...but....

  • Summary: I feel that I was forced into this case simply because this is 1 of only a handful of cases currently on the market that are shallow enough to fit in most entertainment centers. Although the appearence is very nice/clean/compact, I dont think it warrants the price.
  • Pros: Beautiful case - very well ventilated - Hd front audio - sturdy - quiet (from a distance)
  • Cons: Not the easiest case I've ever worked with. Things get a little cramped inside as you near completion. You will need a low-profile cooler. I chose the ARCTIC COOLING ALPINE64. Bad choice; wont fit w/dvd drive installed. Face Plate scratches easily. Still very large for being the smallest case in ...

Very nice case

Jason H., Newegg
9 March 2008
  • Summary: Adjust the optical drive first, before installing the motherboard or anything else to help get the eject button right. Make sure to screw down the drive cage when you're doing this because that button is THAT touchy.
  • Pros: One of the few shallow cases. There are tons of HTPC cases that are 16 inches or more deep, the problem is they don't fit is most audio visual racks. This case is only 14 inches deep.
  • Cons: The pro is also a con. Because the case is so shallow, the optical drive ends up right on top of the CPU. I used an AMD BE-2400 processor with the included retail fan and it barely fits. I had to use a lot of zip ties to keep the cables from interfering with the fan's operation. The eject button ...

Better than Average

Anonymous, Newegg
2 March 2008
  • Summary: There is a problem with the optical drive mechanism - you just have to be gentle pressing the button. It is probably more suited to a drive with a rectangular button (LG, etc.) than the round one on my Samsung drive.
  • Pros: Size, Cooling, Quiet Fans (silent), Understated Good Looks
  • Cons: Cost
