Awesome

William W., Newegg

  • Summary: Even with the one egg off, I could easily recommend this case to anyone looking for a qualit case that cools well while also keeping very quiet at the same time. I suggest to anyone thinking of getting this case to review their system setup and ensure that if they are going to have multiple GPUs...
  • Pros: - Beautiful case with excellent build quality and attention to detail. I've never paid this much for a case but I can say its well worth it. Some things you get what you pay for, this is one of them. - If you use the built in speed switches for the 3 180mm fans, on low you'll be taking off the co...
  • Cons: -Though the top panel is made with thick sturdy plastic, I feel like im gonna break the pins off everytime I go to pop it off to access the "back panel" connections. -BFG1000EX PSU intake fan doesnt completely line up with the fresh air intake grill, about 1/3 of it is covered so no guarentees on...

User Review

Karim A., Newegg

  • Summary: I have wanted this case for about a year. Mostly because of the way it draws air in from the bottom using 3x 180mm fans and vents everything from the top of the case. Air cooled hot cards like gtx580 benefit greatly from this layout IMHO.
  • Pros: The MB is rotated 90 degrees and all heat vents from the top of the case. The 180mm fans can be witched between full and low speed with buttons at the top of the case. The 180mm fan cables are well dressed but for some reason the 120mm fan at the top is not. Nice, Big, window gives great view of ...
  • Cons: The primary problem with this case is the back does not allow very much room for cables. This complicates everything unnecessarily. The HDD drive bays would have been better if they were upside down - as it is the angled SATA cables will be point the wrong way (away from the direction they need t...

Excellent case with room for improvement

Brian W., Newegg
17 March 2011
  • Summary: Paint chips off the corners of the side panels quite easily, take extra care when removing/replacing them. Would have preferred the fan controls to be up front somewhere accessible with the top cover on. Kind of pain to have to remove the cover just to get to them.
  • Pros: I wont go into all of the pros since I think this case already has quite a reputation. I will say that this is easily the best case I've ever owned. Also some people are saying that the side panels are thin or "cheap" but I dont see that at all.
  • Cons: First con is I was surprised to see the top cover to be made of so much plastic. This is easily the cheapest part of the entire case as far construction goes, yet it is not mentioned often. The back part of the cover obstructs the use of a nice heavy AC power cord such as the kind that came with ...

Impressive, but not perfect.

Matthew O., Newegg
26 July 2010
  • Summary: * Very quiet, but not the quietest case I've worked with. * Undecided on the top-side USB ports - can't plug a flash drive in unless I... a) get a new desk, b) modify the desk for more clearance, or c) move the machine from desk enclosure.
  • Pros: * Sturdy and easy to work with. * Very impressive stock cooling with the fans. * First time I've encountered the floating chassis design, very happy with it. * Filters on the fans will make maintenance a breeze.
  • Cons: * Running cables to the hard drives was a bit more difficult than I'd like. * Instructions were a bit unclear on the HDD hot-swap setup. * Practically impossible to make use of the top-most expansion/optical drive opening. * Comparatively expensive.

My new Favorit case...

Jenny P., Newegg
19 April 2010
  • Summary: This is my second FT02 case so with that being said I really can't give a better recommendation. I have been a long time Thermaltake fan, but I have a new favorite case. Mounted a CORSAIR CWCH50-1 in it with a push/pull fan.
  • Pros: Very Well made. Thermal Design is above average. Easy to make a "Clean Looking" build. Lots of holes to get cables through. Neat idea to turn the mother board 90 degrees. The one Hot Swap enabled bay is nice.
  • Cons: The Back side for cable management is very thin. Need to squish the cables around to get the door on. The Drawers for the Hot Swap drives are on the cheap side but they function. Only one drive has a hot swap board on the back. I did order 4 more. The optional Hot Swap Hardware is not he same as ...

Great case, minor annoyance

Chris B., Newegg
16 April 2010
  • Summary: I have to say that this case was pretty awesome to work with. I received it the other day and I couldn't have been more impressed. I did have to take away one egg, because the hot swap bay has an "arm" on it, and the molex connector on mine had 2 pins come out of the housing.
  • Pros: Superb quality Lots of features
  • Cons: None

Different..but growing on me

Francine W., Newegg
27 January 2010
  • Pros: Roomy. Motherboard connections facing up make it easy to connect/reconnect everything. Easy to assemble everything.
  • Cons: Instruction manual that comes with this Silverstone is typically horrible. (This is my second Silverstone case.) Why is it so hard to put together a halfway decent manual? Only two front USB connections from one connector. (My Gigabyte motherboard has two USB connections, so I could have an addit...
