NZXT Phantom 820 Case Video Review

3dGameMan.com
12 December 2012
  • Summary: The NZXT Phantom 820 Case is a true full tower case in that it is massive. It's also loaded with excellent features. The case looks stylish, comes stock with 3 200mm fans and a 140mm, but more can be installed. Impressive lightening system, 6 USB ports, fan controller, lots of drive bays, and many more features. This would be fantastic case for a hardcore water cooling setup. If you're shopping for a full tower case, check this one out.

NZXT Phantom 820 Case Review

  • Summary: Final Thoughts When I first heard of the Phantom 820 I wondered if it was going to be a brand new design.  The 820 has a lot to live up to as the original Phantom was such a success.  I think NZXT did a great job taking the best features that were in the original Phantom and Switch 810 and combining them into the Phantom 820.  You have the futuristic design that was on the original Phantom, but it has been updated to look even better.
  • Pros: HUE lighting system, Stylish design, Lots of room for watercooling, 4 included fans (3x 200mm, 1x 140mm), USB 3.0 support, Easy installation, 4 channel fan controller, Lots of cable routing holes
  • Cons: Hard drive trays do not always lock into place

NZXT Phantom 820 Tower Computer Case

Benchmark Reviews
16 November 2012
  • Conclusion: Performance in system is about being able to effectively keep temperatures down while at the same time not making so much noise as to be distracting. The NZXT Phantom 820 succeeds immensely by using its three large 200mm fans to move large amounts of air at low RPM's which keeps the noise and temperatures down. Showing forethought NZXT also placed the single 140mm fan on rails so that a enthusiast is able to align it with their CPU heatsink.
  • Pros: Great looking exterior, Can be used for any number of configurations from lowest to the most extreme configurations, The large fans used throughout the system help move monuments amounts of air while being quiet, Beautiful lighting system can be used in a enthusiasts system to really accent the color scheme they may be already going for, Water cooling can easily be added later on, 9 expansion slots
  • Cons: Expensive, especially for a product that has a plastic exterior, Heavy, Extremely large, Flimsy drive sleds

NZXT Phantom 820 Case Review

OCModShop
16 October 2012
  • Summary: In conclusion, I would say that NZXT has a winner here.  It’s extremely roomy, lots of space behind the motherboard, lots of accessories, adequate cooling with the choice of adding more fans on a whim, and looks damned aggressive.  My only issue is the size.  It’s heavy even when empty and comes to my mid-thigh when it’s sitting flat on the floor.  Fitting it under most desks might be an issue.
