NZXT Alpha

maximum pc
5 January 2008
  • Excerpt: There are apparently two versions of the English language going around the technological world: One is the version manufacturers use when they say things like, “The NZXT Alpha also enables the user to fit large expansion cards like the Nvidia 8800 GTX.” The other version is the kind we use, where the word “fit” doesn’t suggest a large bucket of grease, a hammer, and profanity that would make a longshoreman blush.
  • Pros: Great airflow.
  • Cons: No room for high-end graphics cards; weird PCI holders. Cramped.

NZXT Alpha Case

20 November 2007
  • Summary: The NZXT Alpha is a great looking case, with clean cut, straight and modern lines. The clear plastic addition to the front in combination with blue LEDs looks awesome. While the case does not cost more than other budget cases, it can fit GeForce 8800 GTX or Ultras without any problems and also has the space for large power supplies and CPU heatsinks. NZXT has decided to keep the interior simple and functional, much like their HUSH case.
  • Pros: Fits large graphic cards, Can hold large PSUs, Large HSFs will also fit, eSATA connector, All possible audio header connectors included, Two optical drive covers included, Great, modern looks, Awesome paint job, Tool-less system works well, Two 120 mm fans included, Well placed lighting
  • Cons: No fan up front for cooling hard drives, Bad placement of front I/O, Mainboard connection for power LED may not fit, Fans fairly loud, only come with Molex connectors, No removable motherboard tray, Plastic front, Package contents are not organized, Not that easy to clean up inside., Manual only in French

NZXT Alpha

15 February 2011
  • Conclusion: The NZXT Alpha is a fantastic budget case, with most considering the £40 price tag only stretching to a beige case with the right holes for your drives. The Alpha goes much further than this, with its tool-less drive mounts, quiet cooling and impressive presence thanks to the illuminating front panel and side window.
  • Pros: Inexpensive, Better-than-beige aesthetics, Tool-less design
  • Cons: Some quality control issues, Front fan spot unusable, Ridiculously bright HDD LED

NZXT Alpha Case

9 February 2008
