Nexus Panel

Melvin C., Newegg
27 March 2006
  • Pros: Nice temp readouts, easy to install, I like the USB/FireWire ports in the front
  • Cons: The cpu fan connections are 3 pin, while my stock intel heatsink fan is four pin, so I haven't figured out how to hook the two up yet. Anyone know if there's an adapter like that? If you leave the fan connection unconnected you get an alarm, and this is a serious alarm, like a smoke alarm.

Vantec is okay...

Matthew T., Newegg
15 January 2006
  • Summary: Got a three.
  • Pros: It's a good product in general. It does what it's supposed to do, and does only that. I liked the features when I bought it, but paid more than newegg from another distributor.... :(
  • Cons: The USB is dying. It just has a bad connection, and WinXP and Linux both have a hard time detecting things on it. You can't plug the USB into the Mobo directly either. I don't like that. It can only control fan, so I use another controller for my other fans...

works perfectly

James G., Newegg
25 December 2005
  • Pros: built well, does what it says
  • Cons: none so far except hooking up the firewire and USB 2.0 jacks requires you run cables out an empty PCI slot cover to the jacks on the back of the PC, would have made much more sense to also include cables to connect from panel to motherboard headers......

Nice!

Daniel L., Newegg
27 May 2004
  • Summary: This is one nice unit! It looks great, works great, and best of all it requires no batteries like some units I've used. It's easy to set up and connectors on the unit are clearly labeled. The extra colored panels are a nice touch. Way to go Vantec! Thanks NewEgg!
