Good case but had faulty wiring

Heath P., Newegg
5 December 2012
  • Summary: My case had a short somewhere in the fan controller that is mounted to the back panel. After I had everything installed in the case and was screwing in the side panels I had arcing between the screw and the case/panel. It was shutting my computer down every time it would arc.
  • Pros: Not a bad case considering the size. I was using for my NAS box. Has good airflow through the case and the easy fan removal makes it nice for quick cleaning of the filters.
  • Cons: Because of it's size as most have mentioned modular PSU is a must. Wire routing is definitely tough especially with the HDD tray and ROM tray being really close together. Also having the back panel attached to the mobo tray isn't the most convenient. You really have to be creative to route the ex...

Under-designed

Eric S., Newegg
5 March 2012
  • Summary: I've looked at Lian Li cases for years, but haven't been able to justify the expense. If it weren't for the side-facing drive bays for my optical drives, I wouldn't have got this one.
  • Pros: Side-loading optical drives were my main criterion for ordering this case. Since the bays can open to either side, it was the best (and nearly the only) option for my application. The aluminum is thick enough to provide rigidity, and the finish is excellent, if the fit isn't. Air flow is excellen...
  • Cons: Where to start? 1) The only cable access to the 5.25" drive tray is out the front or back. Why the didn't put access ports (OK, holes) in the bottom is beyond me. 2) I had to cut off one flange of the sliding 5.25" bay in order for it to clear the non-modular main power cables on my power supply....

Well made case with a few minor issues

A T., Newegg
18 February 2012
  • Summary: Case is bigger than it looks. If you want to do everything right, this is the case for you. After about a week of taking my time to slowly build things after work, I was satisfied with the results. You don't want to do a rush build with this.
  • Pros: This case is well made. Lian Li didn't overlook any of the small details with regard to construction. The screw holes are countersunk, edges are rounded, drive mounting screws are thumb sized and knurled, slide out motherboard tray works pretty well, peripheral slots are vented, front case design...
  • Cons: The slide out 5.25" drive bay doesn't have a place to route power / SATA cables! (I wasn't going around the slot covers either...) Solved that problem with a cutoff wheel and some masking tape... The instructions that come with this case just say "install drives in bay." Lian Li must know about t...

Dissapointed

Anonymous, Newegg
20 November 2011
  • Summary: Lian Li, Y U NO THINK?! Seriously though, get the PC-V351B instead. It's basically the same case with a much better internal design and a little more space.
  • Pros: Beautiful finish and attention to detail on par with most Lian Li cases .
  • Cons: I was surprised how poor the internal design of this case is. A power supply barely fits and has to be forcibly inserted from the side of the case. Opening to route power supply wiring is very, very small and basically blocks the space needed to plug power into a video card. A full sized video car...

Small internal space, wide for a small case

Eleanor P., Newegg
14 August 2011
  • Summary: Tightest case I've ever worked on. However, results are great. Touch pricy for the work required however.
  • Pros: +micro-ATX form factor in a cube format +room enough for a 650w PSU (namely the Corsair HX) +thankfully has a single 2.5inch mount for your SSD +includes 2 120mm intakes +USB3 passthroughs +can move case plugs to either side
  • Cons: -small internal space means TIGHT working conditions, watch your fingers -modular PSU is almost a requirement with this case -site and documentation says it has room (280mm x 120mm) for a large GPU. Count this lower than stated. My eVGA 570 barely fit. -included 120mm fans, whilst silent, dont of...

Good case after some cutting

Stephen F., Newegg
5 January 2011
  • Summary: All in all a good case, it just requires a little cutting and filing to get it right. If you are using a graphics card that does not require any additional power this case would be a lot easier to work with!
  • Pros: -All aluminum means it is very light weight and easy to cut for mods -built in SDHC card reader -USB 3.0 and 3.0->2.0 adapter -Looks great! -Good ventilation! Fans are very quiet and the fan controller switch on the back is great -superior Lian Li quality
  • Cons: -DOES NOT leave enough room for powerful graphics cards. I have a 9800 GTX+ with 1 6-pin power connector on the side of the card. The design of this case allows about 1-2mm of clearance above the card which is not enough to fit a power cable into. I tried multiple cables and with all my might to ...

Ugh! You better really want this thing.

Hunter H., Newegg
20 December 2010
  • Summary: I don't get the whole "Lian Li is high quality" business...it's an all right case, but it's not flawless...I wish there were a beige colour; I'd be all over that.
  • Pros: -Aluminum -Fan controller -Sort of nice looking
  • Cons: Well, this thing is absurdly hard to work with if you have a full size video card. Essentially because of various cable and height issues, I can't use the motherboard tray or add or remove anything therein without totally disassembling the system. Frustrating. I knew it would be a tight fit, but ...

Great Case, Silent Fans

David H., Newegg
17 September 2010
  • Summary: I'm using this case with a FreeNAS build. Everything works great and this has capacity to fit 3 drives (currently 6TB). I'm debating with myself whether or not I'd buy this case again. I gave it a good review because it is what I need it to be.
  • Pros: Virtually no sound coming out of it with a sempron 140 and 1 HDD. Lots of cooling. Relatively small.
  • Cons: Measurements for the case are without the fan casing sticking off the back and the stands on the bottom. I measured my cabinet with about an inch to spare in height, and it ended up being an inch too tall. Cable management is non-existent. When I say "Cable Management, don't think I'm super uptig...
