High quality

Benjamin T., Newegg

  • Pros: Very good build quality, great htpc case. Impressed with Fractal Designs.
  • Cons: If you are planning on shutting this in an entertainment center or having it in a nook, depending on your hardware, you may need to put a fan behind the machine to exhaust the hot air out of the "nook" or cabinet it is in. I would not fault Fractal for this though. Also, when I was putting the ma...

Really Nice HTPC Case

Clinton G., Newegg
23 July 2014
  • Summary: Overall this is a great case with a wonderful design. I would recommend this case to someone looking to build an HTPC.
  • Pros: This case replaced a Lian-Li HTPC case that I had I needed to go with something shorter than what I had for a new TV stand. Comparing this to the Lian-Li both are exceptional cases. The Lian-Li gets the edge on layout and aesthetics while I would give the Fractal case the edge on build quality. T...
  • Cons: Compared to the Lian-Li I feel like the hard drive trays are a little flimsy. The drives are suspended next to each other and while in the frames they can wiggle and bump against each other when putting in or removing them from the case.

  • Summary: Make sure that your have a small (really small) Phillips screw driver if you are planning to use optical drive
  • Pros: Solid build quality, good design, tons of space, build-in fan controller.
  • Cons: Slim optical drive is my only issue. Fractal decided to put more emphasis on hard drives rather then optical drives. Installing optical drive was a pain, screws are tiny. Still, I knew what I was getting myself into; therefore, I am not going to downgrade this case

  • Summary: This is was first Fractal Design case. I've appreciated their cases for awhile, so I decided to pull the trigger one one and I'm glad I did. Great build quality with a silent design. I'm happy with my purchase, and I'd happily recommend it to others.
  • Pros: Great build quality. The front face is a brushed metal and it looks very nice in my home entertainment center. Absolutely quiet. The switch on the side of the case (bad placement, in my opinion, but more on that later) allows you to control the two included 120mm case fans. The switch has three s...
  • Cons: The fan control switch is in an awkward place, it is visible from the front of the case and sort of ruins the aesthetic. ... and of course, the blue power LED is a bit too bright. Blue LEDs should not be used in a HTPC case. They're too visible in a dark room. I'm going to try to replace the LED ...

beautiful case

  • Pros: asthetically pleasing. the brushed aluminum is beautiful, high quality, the bottom hinge works wonderfully mechanical wise. fits full size motherboard, psu, inside is painted black as well. sleak modern design.
  • Cons: limited height for gpu and cpu cooler, another inch would be nice. 92mm coolers the best you'll fit. odd bay, it could be slightly higher up, like even an extra .060 of an inch. it SAYS you may only use an odd drive with mini atx. I installed full atx, asrock fatal1ty z87 pro, rosewill 750w modul...

Fractal Design Node 605 HTPC case

Matthew D., Newegg
11 March 2014
  • Summary: Overall very satisfied with the purchase. If you want the good stuff…then this is it.
  • Pros: This is an extremely good-looking case. A brushed aluminum front panel and blue LED power button make for a super slick home theater PC case. Very attractive. The lower fold down flap hides all the USB ports, memory card reader and ODD. All this is easily accessed by gently pulling on the side of...
  • Cons: Don't bother to look at the manual. It's useless.

Excellent HTPC Case

Daniel K., Newegg
28 February 2014
  • Summary: I knew the ODD drive wouldn't work when I bought it, so it's alright. It seems like they could have put it in a different place. But, that might have compromised the looks. And it looks sweet...
  • Pros: Looks great under a TV Front panel is THICK aluminum Even the fold-down flap is solid aluminum Higher quality than I expected Plenty of room inside HDD Cases are easy to use 2 Fans, nearly silent, (i didn't use the speed switch) Top panel has heavy sound insulation Not as deep as other full-ATX c...
  • Cons: Position of ODD slot doesn't work with full ATX

Beautifully Well Made

Lorenzo C., Newegg
16 February 2014
  • Summary: All Products listed in comments were bought here on Newegg at some time or another: I only have one SSD installed on one of the white bays that hang over the ODD, I took the other one out, but basically that is the only thing that is not in my case that others would have (minus any extra pci cards)...
  • Pros: Solid Feel to the Case. Price not too bad, (you pay for what you get). Fits Reg ATX Mobo (MIGHT -see comments- not be able to fit Optical Slim Drive). Looks really sharp and clean from the front, also the bottom panel flips up to hide any blinking access lights (HDD, ODD). Fans - No lights on the...
  • Cons: Power light it pretty bright, but I don't mind, just thought if I had to say something. Installing the ODD is a bit of a pain, have to screw it in from under the case

Pretty nice Steambox case

Philip S., Newegg
31 January 2014
  • Pros: Looks great in a black media stand under TV airflow is very good and quiet
  • Cons: not taking an egg off for it but the case is just a little too low and does not fit my mITX EVGA heat sink perfectly but it does close. Anyone using the heat sink below should note that the heat pipes come out just a tad too much and make it bow a little but id does close properly http://www.newe...

26 January 2014
  • Summary: The components I was worried about fitting the most were the CPU cooler and the video card. I bought the bellow and they both fit. CPU cooler - ZALMAN CNPS9500 (125mm tall) Video card - MSI Gaming N760 (power cables are a little bent to get the lid on) My power supply was too big to fit the low...
  • Pros: It small enough to fit in my entertainment center, nice finish, good quality
  • Cons: It's small, so you have to carefully pick your components. I wish is was a 1/4 inch taller. This would make video cards and cpu coolers fit easier.
