Great case, broken front panel
Daniel A., Newegg
12 July 2014
Pros: Excellent, well designed case. The rubber cable guides are particularly classy, there is plenty of room for giant motherboards, coolers or power supplies, and the plentiful array of hard drive bays come with a full set of removable trays. The case chassis itself is heavy, with high build quality,...
Cons: The removable front panel (containing the front USB and audio ports and case doors) came heavily damaged. Most of the posts, which connect the panel to the case chassis, were snapped off of the panel. The remaining posts hold the panel on, but it's extremely loose due to all the broken posts. One...
Summary: Purchased this product from Amazon over Newegg. Had Amazon Prime for 2-day shipping and ended up getting the item after 6 days. The problem with the case is not an issue with Amazon but the case itself. The case had two rubber mounts where the power supply unit sits on. My case had ONE.
Summary: Many reviews on other sites claim the case is silent, but the one I bought is only silent when power is off. If I hadn't bought it from NEWEGG. I would suspect I got a knowoff.
Pros: Black, USB 3.0 in front
Cons: Silent only when not in use. CoolMaster PSU mounts off the base, “floats” about ¼ inch above the floor supported by the 4 screws in the back of the case. Steel? Is that why the side with air vents does not close tightly? MB spacers are slight off center Equipment: Fractal Design Define XL R2 FD-C...
Summary: I purchased two of these and had hands on with a third. All have the same issue. This leads me to believe that all are defective or the case design itself is flawed. Fortunately, Newegg sent me a prepaid return label for them.
Pros: Great looks and good fan positioning.
Cons: The motherboard back-plate or the PCI slot vertical spacing are incorrect. The case came with the 6.5mm spacers which are too short. Then Fractal sent me 8.5mm spacers which still did not work properly. The issue may not be noticeable with a GPU due to their length and motherboards having clips t...
Pros: I love the four front usb ports and the great amount of room inside for all my rigs guts.
Cons: Right out of the box i noticed that the mobo tray and pci brackets were warped, I said whatever and used it anyway. Around six months after using the case the front IO started to fail the mic jack, the usb slots.
Pros: Great big case, lots of hard drive bays. Quiet
Cons: The weight of my hard drives actually forced the metal of the hard drive bay to detach at the seam, spilling hard drives inside the case. I actually did not notice until 2 of my hard drives died.... First time this has ever happened with any case
Fractal knows this is defective and does not include the parts to fix it

Summary: I bought this case about a month ago and Fractal had some serious problems with it during manufacturing. First of all the packaging sucks for this heavy of a case with thin cardboard and weak styrofoam. When I opened the case up ALL the styrofoam was cracked and the box had numerous holes in it.
Excerpt: These cases have poor quality control, I have owned 2 of these. I had them stored in the garage waiting to build. I did a build for a friend in one last week I found that the motherboard tray is actually warped in both of the cases.
