Summary: I just got this case to replace my custom built mid tower because my switch broke and had no desire to source one and retrofit it. Lost interest in that project. This case for the money is very much worth the purchase. Dead quiet. My fiance's PC sits about 3 feet away and mine is right next to me..
Pros: Very quiet, Sleek, Good simple design, Easy USB access, comes with a large assortment of hardware.
Summary: I've been building computers for 16 years, and I have always loved having full size cases. This one is massive, huge, heavy, but I love how solid it feels, and how much room it gives me to work. Same goes for cooling. more room, cables out of the way, should keep the case running cool.
Pros: The size of this case is massive, and the weight of this case is really heavy. instead of building a computer, this may seem like you are building a fireproof box. Appearance is very clean and sleek. I like that a lot in my older age. I prefer something that does not stand out so much with all so...
Cons: Knocked an egg off for some of the cons here. First thing is, for a case as massive as this is, the plate that holds your motherboard is incredibly thin. While attaching the standoffs, I was noticing that there was a bit of dipping going on. once the board was in place, I no longer noticed it, bu...
Summary: As someone who has built and worked with PCs for a long time and used dozens of different cases it's no light statement when I say this is my favorite case ever. I agree with every other positive review here.
Pros: - Beautiful sleek exterior that doesn't make me cringe like a lot of the flashier gaming cases do - Sturdy steel construction and an absolute all-around pleasure to build in. Loads of space for huge GPUs and PSUs and 8 drive bays (good for people like me who hoard files). Cable routing space behi...
Cons: It's big and heavy. If you are looking to make a LAN rig consider something that's not almost 40 lbs. out of the gate. Otherwise everything about this case is wonderful.
Pros: I will modify or update this review when I do the build. I just want to say one thing about Newegg, and computer cases: On almost every case review that I have read, on many different companies’ cases, 95% of the one star reviews are because it had a cracked door, or broken foot. Shipping that ba...
Cons: The thumbscrews in the rear are very stiff, and may need to be worked with a screwdriver, and a drop of lube. to get them to work with thumb and forefinger. I am SURE that I can get them to loosen up.
Pros: After years of using mid-size cases for my builds, squeezing the GPU in, figuring out how to fit 4 all the 3-1/2" drives, putting up with the rats nest of data and power cables, I was blown away by how quickly my new build went together using the Define XL R2 case. No muss, no fuss, there was ple...
Cons: I like having separate LEDs for HDD and Power, this case only has a single LED for either/or.
Summary: It's big. It's hefty. Somehow it's sleek as well. You could probably use it to barricade a door! It seems super well designed and manufactured. I don't have too much in it just yet, but there's no way I'll run out of space, so long as I get someone more competent to do the wiring for me...
Pros: -Ridiculously sturdy -Very roomy, can be made even more roomy if necessary -Doesn't try to look like a spaceship -Everything fits like a glove -Flat top with USB jacks is perfect for people who use external drives with short cords (me) -Comes with more than enough hardware -Doesn't have a tacky a...
Cons: -Side panels are a little tricky to get on and off -Fan speed switch seems a little flimsy (which is fine, I don't plan on using it a lot) -Some sort of carrying handles (or recesses in, say, the front and back) would've been nice, though not everyone moves their desktop around as much as I do -D...
Summary: Since writing my last review (http://www.newegg.com/profile/reviews/Yk9OY0p0RTg5UzVvNzJwYjBqM2ozYThxNlRjTDU0Vnk=), I have contacted Fractal Design, and they sent me a full set of replacement feet for free. Changing out the feet is as simple as removing a screw.
Summary: This is a nice, sleek looking case. The side panels and parts of the other sides have thick sound dampening padding that does work, but adds quiet a bit of weight. Unfortunately, my case was delivered with one of the feet broken off.
Pros: Sleek look, plenty of room for components, quiet
Cons: Very large, some cables were not long enough to stretch from psu to top of mobo.
Summary: The case is very well build, very good build quality. The nearly all steel construction gives it a significant amount of heft, though that's to be expected. Each access ports for USB and headsets near the power switch. It has four bays for external drives, which is pretty excellent.
Pros: -Fantastic build quality -Nearly all steel design -Exceptionally roomy -Both sides come off, allowing easy organization of cabline -Excellent noise dampening
Cons: -Very heavy (what do you expect with a massive metal case?)
