  • Summary: Arrived very quickly. Unless you need it right away, wait for this to go on sale ($90 or less) since shipping costs are additional.
  • Pros: Well constructed. Looks great. Really does help keep things silent.
  • Cons: Directions on what screws to use for everything could be a little better, but this is marginally a 'con'.

  • Summary: Love this case! It is very wide! I didn't expect it to be so wide, but that's a good thing!
  • Pros: Large and spacious Feels very well built, especially compared to my last case

Awesome case to build with

Joseph D., Newegg
  • Summary: I really like this case, but do wish it had thicker steel on top & bottom of case (especially the top)...if you install a fan in the top, you will see what I mean. (better to leave sound dampening material installed instead of installing fans). But I did not deduct an egg for this as it was only $89.99 with free shipping...You absolutely cannot go wrong at this price..
  • Pros: *Very roomy and easy to work with...plenty of room for cable management. *Cooling is very good. *Quiet computing. * Very sturdy side panels with sound dampening material * Fan controller works great * Nice solid window * Built-in front fan intake Filters easy to remove & clean
  • Cons: * # 1 complaint with this case is that the top and bottom are kinda flimsy...thin metal. * I would recommend not installing fans in top or bottom of case, but I do recommend installing one extra intake fan and removing one of the hdd cages if you can to improve airflow. * SSD mounts require motherboard removal if you're going to add one later (so make sure you mount BEFORE installing motherboard. * PSU fan filter is long and a pain to remove if you have no access to t...

A++ Awesome Case for the money

RICH D., Newegg
  • Summary: I am not into all the flashy windows, lights and alien type designs. That stuff isnt even practical. Save the money on your case and buy a faster processor (something that does make a difference). This box comes with all the bells and whistles of boxes that you would pay $150 for. There is no real need for anything this box doesn't provide. Save the money and get this one.
  • Pros: Sturdy material (not cheap), thick paint coating (no getting cut), great wire management, plenty of thumbscrews for everything, dyno lining to reduce sound, descent design, flat top to set external drives or other devices on, very wide, easy removable air filters, no fancy lights and and designs to draw attention to itself.
  • Cons: There is no real clear instructions how to take advantages of their design. Took some guessing to figure out the best way to mount the SSDs so I could get power to it.

Great case

Anonymous, Newegg

  • Pros: Lots of room inside, which means the case is a bit bigger, but the size also accommodates 140mm fans, which means it is pretty quiet even if I run them at 12v. This brings another good point of this case, its built-in fan controller, with 3 settings, 5/7/12 volts.
  • Cons: The only cons are size if you're short on space, and maybe the lack of a dedicated HDD activity LED. You can use the power led as the HDD LED, if you want to, or add a LED yourself somewhere.

Fractal Define R4 Black Pearl

Matthew B., Newegg
2 October 2014
  • Summary: This is my THIRD Fractal R4. I have had 2 white ones (1 windowed, 1 non-windowed), and this black pearl one. I got the black one because the price was right for my new build, but I also knew I was getting a quality piece. The materials are high quality (padded sides, STEEL drive trays and cages, rubber feet). It's a little plain looking (Scandinavian minimalist design) but at least it's not all plastic and covered with obnoxious 1337 Gamerz LEDs and such.
  • Pros: 1. Size - perfect to house powerful hardware without being cramped. 2. Build quality - the steel is strong, the finish is great. Looks and feels like a quality piece. 3. Side window - big enough to show off the goodies, but still cover up the uglies!
  • Cons: Fan controller is Molex plug. Would like to see a SATA version. Power LED is blue. Would LOVE to see a white one. If you mount a 240mm radiator on top, it HAS to have slim fans or you will have to mod it.

Zachary C., Newegg
2 October 2014
  • Summary: Beautiful, quiet, tons of room to work with. I would gladly use another one of these cases in my next build. None of my cons are enough of an issue to warrant dropping an egg from the score. Shipping was also quite fast, only took two days to get here using the supersaver option.
  • Pros: -Quite large and spacious for a mid-tower, especially in width -Heavy and solid construction -Side panels are also very solid, no bowing whatsoever -Titanium finish on the front looks amazing, as does the entire case -Strong magnet close for the front panel, feels very secure -Sound dampening foam is plentiful -Removable/rotating top drive cage, oodles of room for gpu if removed -Airflow on the front fans is surprisingly good even with the front panel closed -Thumbscr...
  • Cons: -Almost too heavy, entire case without components is nearly 30 lbs -The blue led around the power button is extremely bright -If you plan on adding a case fan on one of the two top slots, expect them to be the majority of your noise. However, with the moduvents left in place there is very little noise. Ignoring the top slots for case fans is ideal for reducing noise levels. -No hdd led connector -Bottom external drive bay had a metal adapter that was quite difficult t...

Great Case

Andrew Z., Newegg
29 September 2014
  • Pros: Plenty of room with a Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 cooler and MSI N770 GPU. Excellent (almost) tool-free design. The HDD/SSD mounting requires a screw driver, but everything else is quick and tool-less. The air flow seems excellent; the filtered bottom and front air-intakes are great to minimize casualties from the "dust bunny of doom". IO port placement is great!
  • Cons: NA
