Disappointed

Laura P., Newegg
26 January 2014
  • Summary: I want to start this off by saying that I am a huge fan of Fractal... I own the full sized Define R4 for my home computer and another Mini R4, which both were great. That being said, this case shouldn't have left the assembly line. The sound dampening material is falling off, fan controller was DOA, power button isn't seated properly, and the general feel of the case is chintzy.
  • Pros: Silent, great price, very sleek and stealthy.
  • Cons: Included fan controller DOA Sound dampening material coming off or sagging Backing plate cut-out is too small

Fans included are only voltage controlled

Ken Y., Newegg
24 January 2013
  • Summary: I couldn't edit my previous review :-P
  • Pros: Nice build quality
  • Cons: FYI, the two fans included are only voltage controlled (3-pin). My Gigabyte Z77MX-D3H board only supports PWM fans (nothing in BIOS to switch on Smart Fan control like previous Gigabyte boards had) so I have to run them at full power unless I used the included fan controller which won't let me monitor fan speed on the motherboard :-P And the Hyper Evo 212 fits fine. It's a little cool air starved because the front fan blows into the top drive cage's side which is most...

Bad motherboard cutout mars an almost perfect design

Ken Y., Newegg
17 January 2013
  • Pros: Solidly built...even more so than Silverstone cases I've used like the GD05 and TJ08. Great cable routing...nearly perfect positioning of holes. Lots of drive space and easy to get the drives out if they go bad.
  • Cons: Could use mount points for SSDs. There's plenty of space under each of the two tray cages. Bottom cage should be removable. Big (slightly shorter than a mid-tower case), but no surprise because the drives are mounted transversely. No HDD activity light. No message/sleep light. No reset switch. Top fan should have insulated cover if you isntall one and don't need to turn it on unless you're overclocking. And the biggest con is the rear motherboard cutout is TOO HIGH......

Design flaws ruin a good concept

Benjamin R., Newegg
8 November 2012
  • Summary: The case came damages. The packing used low quality, hard styrofoam that had broken into pieces during shipping. The front panel has vent slits around the periphery, giving the impression that they will allow air to be drawn in when the front door is closed. Wrong! The design of the fan covers in the front panel completely blocks these vents. To get airflow throught the front, you will have to open the door.
  • Pros: Mid sized mATX case with 6 3.5 drive slots Designed for silent operation Sturdy chassis Clean design
  • Cons: Front panel design allows for nearly zero aiflow with door closed. Quality control is lacking Sound deadening material is second rate

Good case, but far from perfect.

Anthony W., Newegg
11 August 2012
  • Summary: I replaced the fans with a pair of scythe 900RPM fans. I took the advice of another user and colored over the LED with a black marker, removing the LED was pain. I removed the secondary hard-drive cage and added my home built HDD suspension apparatus and I now have the perfect case. Cool looking and silent.
  • Pros: Beautiful looking case. Roomy inside. Backplane cutout very helpful. Structually sound. Easy access to filters and case fans. Power button and usb ports on top for easy access, no need to open door to power on. I did not encounter any sharp edges when assembling. Fan controller is a nice touch.
  • Cons: Included fans are mediocre at best, they whine at low rpm speeds which defeats the sound proofing barrier built into this case. Blue power LED is way too bright. The rubber grommets do not isolate HDD vibration.

Lätt att bygga i.

muunkie, NetonNet
26 July 2013

Ganska bra

  • Summary: Jättefin burk som rekommenderas av många.
