It would be nice if I didn't have to turn on a flashlight ...

Summary: CONS: The built-in fan controller is weak, but it's only meant for two fans that come with the case so I let it slide. I have my own 5-channel fan controller that I'm using. I see no HDD leds on mine, not sure why yet. 2 front USB ports that aren't recessed or angled back. Hope you don't want to plug anything into these for any amount of time, with kids or dogs around, because they'll brush against it and break your USB transceiver/flash drive/headset/whatever.
Summary: Doen'st work with the Corsair H105 as advertised. Works great with the Noctua cooling system once you place an extra fan in the top for drawing hot air up through the top and at least one extra Noctua on the inside hard drive cage to draw cool air in over the southbridge of the motherboard. Noctua system is super quiet and cools much better than the Corsair H105.
Pros: Great case, as long as you don't plan on cooling it with the Corsair H105. I switched to the Noctua cooler and now am very happy with the case, and have it FULLY LOADED to the max with hard drives and an overclocked i7-3770K, 4400 MHz (44 x 100) running at a cool 20'C ambient idle temp. You can mount Noctua fans on the inside hard drive cage with the provided threaded holes and draw more cool air over your PCH southbridge and GPU fans as well, which brings the temps d...
Cons: Don't buy this case if you plan on using it with the CORSAIR Hydro Series H105. It WON'T fit properly, and force you to mount the radiator in such a way that it doesn't make direct contact with the H105 cooling fans. Also, the H105 fans had to be mounted with the case mount between the fans and the radiator and were VERY, VERY LOUD! Had to remove the H105 and go with the Noctua NH-D14 SE2011, which is VERY, VERY QUIET and cools much better than the H105.
Great case, but has a couple shortfalls but not a deal breaker.

Summary: Corsair has put together a very solid case with the Carbide 500R. Overall aesthetic design of this case is extremely clean and spacious inside for its size. Panels are tight fitting and no gaps when installed. The paint job inside and out is very high quality and should should up well. The addition of a built in fan/light control on the front panel is a handy addition as well.
Man, that right side panel is tight... No room for error in cable management.

Summary: This case is nearly perfect and it made my build go very smoothly. My only complaint is that the right-side panel is extremely tight unless you have perfect cable management. The outputs for the cables are towards the front of the case, but the extra bulge on the panel is in the back. Seems like if they reversed the panel it would work so much better. Just keep your cable management in mind during your build!
Summary: If you get this case, do yourself a favor and buy a dust filter for the top. Corsair Support was fantastic in replacing the I/O panel. I highly recommend this case (and company) to anybody.
Pros: - Fan controller (While not the best, it does its job) - Sturdy - Dust filter on front - Good cable management - Pre-installed stand-offs - Easy tool-less hard drive and 5.25" mounts - Can support 2x 240mm Radiators and a 120mm radiator
Cons: - DOA I/O panel (Replaced swiftly by Corsair support free of charge) - No top dust filter (I expect more from Corsair) - Front dust filter doesn't do its job very well
... heck of a lot easier and it makes a nice looking machine

Summary: As a first-time computer builder this case made my job a heck of a lot easier and it makes a nice looking machine. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the USB3 ports that came with the case but customer service at Corsair was excellent and they had me a replacement part in a matter of a few days. The only reason I knocked off a star was because of the bad USB port. I'd still purchase it again.
Summary: Very nice case. Preinstalled fans are quiet. Leds are not super bright. Tons of room and very easy cable management. Several inches longer and taller than my old rosewill case. Required me to rearrange the desk a bit. 1 con. Front audio was broken. After several hours of fiddling I ended up cutting one out of my old case and splicing it in. Easy fix, but only if you have parts available.
Pros: Little maintenance due to lack of dust. Aside from cleaning the radiator, all parts are easily accessible and require the least amount of upkeep, from any cases I've owned. Airflow in my setup is superb albeit not optimal. The 500R looks hideous...in a good way.
Cons: Space can be limited and modding may be necessary to install push/pull fans on the upper vents. The pegs it stands on are too short, preventing much needed airflow to the PSU and GPU.
Summary: I still love Corsair Cases, Ram and PSU they are great and I will continue to buy Corsair products into the future.
Pros: 4 Fans included Easy to hide cables in this case I like the light show that is not overbearing IMO I like that you can take out the Hard Drive bays to add extra airflow Very easy to add 2 additional 120mm fans to the top of the case and 1 more to the bottom of the case I currently have 7 fans and water cooling in this case with massive overclocking for my I5 4690k
Cons: Included fans are average. They are not horrible by any means but no as good as I expect from Corsiar
