Case with 1394

ARTHUR A., Newegg
12 July 2012
  • Summary: I would have liked the front LEDs to have a Molex plug arrangement similar to the fans. As it is set up, you can only plug those auxillary LEDs into the 4 pin power plugs. However, my mother board has two LED plugs and I could have plugged these LEDs into the second mother board plug and they would...
  • Pros: I used two of these (mine and wifes PC). Solid and well built. I like steel. Two fans and a collar for the processor fan. I like the Molex plugs for the fans. You can either hook them up to power supply through one of the 4 pin legacy drive power connectors or disconnect at the Molex plug and hoo...
  • Cons: Directions were a litttle sparce. After I put the motherboard in with the standoffs, I noticed two of them had collars. Second time I put those in two of the rear holes assuming they would stabilize the mother board when things were plugged into the rear I/O pluggs . Nothing in the directions abo...

Alexander K., Newegg

  • Summary: I just use the stock AMD heatsink, so I don't know if there's enough room to mount one of those aftermarket monster coolers. You'd definitely have to remove the duct.
  • Pros: Great case. Solidly built; sturdy and no sharp edges anywhere. Toolless installation good for the most part. Looks great, the front LEDs can be unplugged. It's got enough space, it fits my gigantic HD6950 (not a whole lot of margin though). I don't have a problem with space for cables, as I only ...
  • Cons: It's probably a good idea to go ahead and screw in your video card, the expansion slot clips don't hold very strongly. They were fine for my sound card though. I wanted to put my hard drive in the forward-facing 3.5 in mount for cabling reasons. It eventually got in there, but the toolless slides...

  • Summary: Air-flow is alright. Not great. Not bad. Overall very happy with the purchase
  • Pros: Nice and simple case. Looks great. Buttons feel good. Easy to assemble. Plenty of room for components.
  • Cons: Tool-less on the slots are garbage. The locks did not hold my GPU securely. Some of them broke off. It got a little tight when I added more hard drive. A little more room in the case woulda made things easier.

Good bang for the Buck

Ato G., Newegg
18 May 2011
  • Summary: For under $50 you cant beat this case. It may be the best in it's class. As far as performance it definitely lives up to it's name.
  • Pros: This is a very good Case for the Price tag. It offers 120 mm fans in the back of the unit as well as the front. It is the perfect case to build mom's computer or a young adult going to college. The wiring for the front panel is self explainitory and the case has alot of room for growth. All in al...
  • Cons: This case is not for the gamer trying to put togother a cheap system. This case does not allow much room for your high end video cards. I have run into the expansion bays not allowing the power to the video cards room to connect. Also it may be tight getting some of the bigger heatsinks in the ca...

Good for a basic build

Ken P., Newegg
20 August 2010
  • Summary: Great for a simple build. If you only plan to install 1 or 2 HDs, don't worry too much about the heat issue.
  • Pros: I love the toolless design. Makes installing everything a breeze. The fans are quiet and provides good airflow to the mobo. The cables to connect to the mobo are also well labeled. I like the LEDs in the front. Gives it a cool look without being too ostentatious.
  • Cons: However, the airflow over the hard drives sucks. This can be a problem if you fill up the rack with some hotter HDs such as the Hitachi Deskstars. Luckily, you can install another fan in front of the HD rack, but it takes a bit of elbow grease to take the rack out and put it back together.

Good Case for the Price

Anonymous, Newegg
13 July 2010
  • Summary: The snap-on rails for the side-facing (internal) HD bays are much more favorable to the screw-less system on the forward facing bays. With the 5.25" bays, the screwless system worked pretty well because lining up the screw holes was much easier.
  • Pros: Good case for the price, good cooling system, 120mm fans (2 included, 3 locations), good layout, nice looking
  • Cons: screwless system of the foward-facing drives is wonky and complicated to use, position of side-facing (internal) drives is too close to case wall (for cabeling), sheet-metal screw holes resulted in a few "infinite turning" screws.

Solid Case

Anonymous, Newegg
11 July 2010
  • Summary: System: Phenom II x4 965 GIGABYTE GA-MA785GM-US2H COOLER MASTER Elite 460 A-DATA 2GB DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 Windows 7 Enterprise
  • Pros: This case has a nice clean look. Definately not over the top. I don't really like the cases that look like they're about to "transform." The toolless design is great. It had plenty of room for my needs. I had a good time putting together my newest system in this case.
  • Cons: None that I could think of. The power light doesn't work but I'm not sure if it's the case or the motherboard. I dinged it 1 star for not having a front eSATA connection.

Great case for the money!

Brent A., Newegg
17 June 2010
  • Summary: I would buy it again.
  • Pros: -Very well built -Lots of room -Blue LED's are a nice touch -2 Quiet 120mm fans -Low price
  • Cons: -The tool-less design is okay but I had problems installing my GPU. It was hard to push the flimsy plastic levers back and I almost broke one of them. When I did push the levers back, I noticed that they didn't latch on to anything so my GPU now moves around when I am fiddling with cables/screws....

Good bang for the money

Anonymous, Newegg
15 June 2010
  • Summary: Manual is a joke. But good news is that I had plenty of screws and all sorts of assortments left over instead being short of critical stuff like other reviewers mentioned. Tool-less setup helps. The drives seem to be firmly installed, but the video card is somewhat loose.
  • Pros: Price is right (forty). The black case looks cool. Two fans that came with the case are not too loud (probably because I hooked them up to motherboard's fan control instead of 12V line). I added another very quiet 120mm fan in the front to cool the hard drives. Compared to keeping all the drives ...
  • Cons: One of the blue led was damaged and did not light up.. but that's not worth sending the whole case back. The hard drive bay in the bottom was a bit far from the power supply. I had to install the lowest of the three hard drives in the 3.5 bay and setup the CDROM drive in the lowest 5.25 bay to al...

Respectable Case

Anonymous, Newegg
12 June 2010
  • Summary: from the picture, the lights on the side are brighter, but I'm happy they aren't or I wouldn't be able to get to sleep.
  • Pros: Very good case for the price, and very cool (especially since I added 2 120mm fans), plenty of space, nice screwless design, I only needed a screwdriver to add the extra fans. The
  • Cons: The front fan is a little difficult to install. (loss of one egg) I would have been nice had the case included the front fan, or atleast had the fan in front instead of in back, but for the price I can't take off an egg). It would have been nice to have the power supply on the bottom and the fron...
