Conclusion: This is a very nice case, it’s quite normal and with that I mean no real extra features and with a price of around 65$ there is not much to expect from it. Testing proved me wrong though, the case makes your setup very silent, the acoustic foam removes vibrations and excess noise.
Summary: The Cooler Master Sileo 500 Case is one of a few silent computer options. It has acoustic foam on both side panels, top and bottom. This means that the case is really quiet and it's an excellent option for anyone who requires a quiet computer system. It also comes with lots of drive bays, two 120mm fans, tooless design and looks great. Watch the video to find out more...
Summary: Cooler Master Sileo 500 is a mid-tower case targeted to the user that wants a nice and affordable case. Here is a summary of what we thought about it:
In summary, we liked Sileo 500, as we think it provides a good cost/benefit ratio for the average user looking for a sober-looking mid-tower case with good construction quality for building a quiet PC.
Conclusion: So the Sileo 500 is extremely silent, does a reasonable job of keeping the components cool. The redesigned drive retention brackets are a major improvement over the old design as far as vibration and noise is concerned. The styling of the case is a little bland to me compared to Cooler Master's other product line.
Excerpt: The computer chassis, commonly referred to as the case, is the enclosure in which all of the components and drives are installed to make a personal computer. Cases differ in size and appearance but all perform the function of holding the computer’s internal parts. Some provide better airflow to keep the internal parts nice and cool and we all know that a cooler computer is a better performing computer. Does the Cooler Master Sileo 500 live up to its name?
Pros: Sturdy, very quiet, 2-120 mm fans included, front panel access, plenty of internal space, nice looking.
Cons: A better front panel attachment design would be nice, cable management could be made better.
Excerpt: While we were in Las Vegas for CES this last January we had the chance to see some of the new cases that CoolerMaster planned to release to US audience later in 2009. One of the case we saw and thought would be very appealing to the HTPC crowd is the CoolerMaster Sileo 500 case, one of the major selling points for this case is the fact that it is lined with sound deadening material on the top side-panels and bottom of the case.
Summary: The Coolermaster Sileo 500 Chassis is in my opinion, one of the most silent chassis you can buy on the market. Not surprising, as the chassis features an anti-vibration and screwless design, and comes with soundproof material installed. To reduce nosie even further, the chassis only comes with only 2 x 120mm silent, low rpm fans ... in the front and one at the back.
