  • Conclusion: I must admit that when I first read the features of this case I was very interested because of the promised low noise, low weight, and relatively small size are attributes I value high in a computer case I want to use personally. I had high expectations for the case being very “silent”, but I was a bit let down by the thin (especially when compressed) sound dampening foams, thin plate, plastic feets (I´d prefer rubber-feets for less vibration sounds), no fan-controller,...

[Review] Cooler Master Silencio 450

20 February 2012
  • Conclusion: Overall, the Cooler Master Silencio 450 performed well in our testing. The understated look of the case helps give it that stealth look and sound you are going for if you are buying this case. Although it does not have the mirror finish front door of it older sibling the Silencio 500, the 450 still looks fine. The addition of the USB 3.0 and SD card reader on the front I/O is always a nice luxury to have.

Cooler Master Silencio 450 Mid-Tower Case Review

Hi Tech Legion
1 February 2012
  • Summary: The Cooler Master Silencio 450 Mid-Tower case performed fairly well under the circumstances, as its design lends more toward its silent features, and not especially toward exceptional airflow. The Cooler Master Silencio 450 chassis, with its clean lines and sleek looking front door nicely framed in a gloss black finish, give it a very exquisite look. The build quality of this chassis is good and lives up to Cooler Master's reputation.
  • Pros: Extremely Quiet, Dust filters and fans included, Removable HD Cage, Omni Directional Front Door, Easy Access to front I/O Panel, USB 3.0, Card Reader, Quiet Fans, Sound Proofing
  • Cons: Not enough room behind MB tray for good cable management, Seven Expansion slots covers are not replaceable / only two spare covers provided, No MB Adapter for USB 3.0, Cable pass through to MB I/O panel at the back is required to run USB 3.0, Tool less retention is very minimal at best

Silent PC
30 January 2012
  • Summary: In our first test configuration, we setup the Silencio 450 with a relatively low power IGP based system and it performed on par with the Silencio 550 — not surprising seeing as they share the same basic layout. Adding a moderately powerful graphics card heated up things considerably in both cases, but ultimately the 550 got the worst of it due to its underpowered fans. However neither case performed particularly well, being easily beaten by the much-lauded Antec Solo II.

27 May 2012
