Conclusion: This has been mentioned in earlier reviews, but I can’t quite stress it enough. The side panel is really hard to take off. I can’t even fathom why they bothered to include thumb screws. You’ll spend at least five minutes wondering if you’re doing something wrong, and another five minutes actually trying to pry the thing off (and the holes dotted right next to the “handleâ€Â doesn’t help either – I suggest gloves).
Pros: Did someone say fans?, Water cooling possibilities, Wire management, Tool-less installation
Cons: Cheap build quality, Flimsy front panel, Poor port and button placement
Summary: The cooler master case is an excellent choice for those making custom built PC's like myself. I recently decided to make a custom build, I had a very high spec setup and with a high spec setup as most will know comes a CPU and other components that are going to get very hot. To aid me i needed a case where cooling was easy and going to work effectively, which lead me to my choice of the cooler master.
Summary: I decided to upgrade my computer after my previous one died. Ive built several computers in the past but this was to be the first built almost entirely from scratch without old components. I came to the decision to buy this case after reading numerous positive reviews and recommendations from friends. On top of that its pretty dam sexy! Im very happy to have bought it. The finish on the case all looks to be of a good quality with no tacky plastic bits.
Excerpt: "When upgrading my computer and installed the new parts in my old case, this proved to be a bit of a silly idea as the temperatures it was running at was too high. Having largely spent out on the upgrade i wanted a fairly cheap case. The CoolerMaster CM690 looked like it was to fit the bill perfectly, its was fairly cheap approx £55, it did NOT come with power supply, which for me wasn't a problem as I'd just bought a new CoolerMaster Real Power ...
Summary: The CM 690 is a case made by Cooler Master, a leading brand in computer cases, cooling and power supplies. At first look you see that this case looks plain. I think the case has an understated sleek and clean design. It even has the Cooler Master badge on the front. When I looked inside, I just thought. The design of this is perfect, it was very well though out. It accommodates for everything.
Pros: Screwless, nice design, fits lots of fans, spacious, simple
Summary: The CM690 is a great choice if you are looking for exceptional cooling and good looks. I like that fact that it's not flashy at all. A great case overall it has some problems. The build quality is a bit flimsy and the included fans are a bit loud.
