Summary: Adding gel gaskets & rubber mounts to the fans is a good investment; I also replaced the fans with Acoustifan units but the Antecs are already extremely quiet. Inflow venting in front is well managed. I blocked a chunk of this by cutting out the drive-bay opening of a slim DVD/CDRW unit.
Pros: Quiet out of the box Shallow depth just right for AV equipment racks Good fit for home-theater closets Square & sturdy construction Most parts not weled in, but use threaded fasteners for easy modification & access Nice 2-piece switch-plate gave a chance to put in some hidden front vent-holes! As...
Cons: Power-supply fan airflow not silent Little venting in place for internal 2-drive bay... but this can be fixed! :) Power & reset switches are covered when the main cover is on & closed, but are surface-mounted on the switch plate... this is easily fixed by re-mounting the switch plate on regular m...
Summary: Bought 3 of these will end up buying 5 or so more soon.
Pros: Very good construction, 650W Antec PSU, Very quiet, Great case fans, Good room, the PSU cables can reach throughout the entire case, the rubber grommets that hold up the hard drives and CD ROM drives are nice.
Cons: Very bad literature on the case, oh well wasn't needed. Looks like it can only hold 3 Hard Drives, this was not a problem for me I only needed 2 in them
Summary: When I finally got a replacement PSU from Antec, it did not have the hard drive mounting holes the original had, so I just had to get rid of this piece of garbage after having this outside of the rack for a month waiting for a replacement PSU.
Pros: Good metal Construction
Cons: NON Standard Power Supply - Power Supply Burned out, couldnt find any relacement that would fit. Antec did not have any for over 1 MONTH!!!! For this much $$$$ I demand the best.
Pros: Um...quiet and cool. Great looking, locks and the whole bit.
Cons: Only three HD capacity unless you get a few kits to stick some in the CD drive slots. For a 3U case, I'd love to have at least 5 HD slots. Don't see why they couldn't have designed it that way. Still, though, great case.
Summary: Power supply is not a problem. Unless you're running an SLI rig, 450 watts is a good amount of power. I'm running a Core2Duo, GeForce 8500, DVD/CD, and 4 hard drives without a single hitch or blue screen. I'm amazed at how quiet it really is.
Pros: Fantastic case! Bought this to swap out an older, NOISY rackmount and it did not disappoint. This computer is now quieter than my tower. Perfect for a standard server.
Cons: Power supply design is proprietary. If the PSU ever needs to be replace, you'll have to buy through Antec. However, that design is what makes this case so quiet; so you take the trade-off.
Summary: PSU is sufficient for most servers. We're not building a gaming system here where you need to power a couple of high end graphics cards. Although, I can understand there are a few instances where this PSU would not be adequate.
Pros: Very quiet. Easy to install components. The layout of the case is very good. Looks great in the rack.
Cons: None. I don't have a problem with the PSU in the front.
Summary: Great case if you are working in the same room with it. If you need more drive bays, get the 4U model. Make sure you have some ties to bundle the unused power cables.
Pros: Super quiet. The only thing I can hear form this case at 3 feet away is the CD rom when it spins full speed (probably should have gotten a quieter drive). The internal fans have 3-way switches to set the speed.
Cons: The case is designed with the power supply in the front, eliminating some of the drive bays but this allows the PS to not use a fan.
