Summary: The case arrived missing drive bay covers and the rack of mounting rails. The front USB 3.0 ports do not work as 3.0 and must be converted to 2.0. This converter cable was not included. You must customer support to get cable. After 45 minutes waiting on the phone Alex answers. After explaining the issue and waiting another 10 minutes he informs me that he can do nothing and to fill out an on-line support form and someone will get back to me.
Summary: Mine had a grounding issue which apparently has been solved. I contacted Antec- they sent me the middle piece (formerly chrome, now black), no instructions, no information. Ridiculous. I bought a NZXT, problem solved.
Summary: There is a very big and annoying problem with this product. It does not adequately discharge static electricity. If it has been running for a while and you, or your pet, brushes up against the metalic insert on the front of the panel, you can discharge your energy and crash the system. This happens all the time for me when inserting a USB drive. Antec is aware of the problem, here is their response: Comment: 1.
Excerpt: Eye-catching exterior. Challenging drive trays with silicone grommets for isolating drive vibration.Antec Consumer Service has historically been really responsive. In general, Antec appears to strive for excellent and very good design.Unfortunately in this instance, I really feel they fell short. 1. The intake air filter is accessible only from the bottom - you have to tip the case on its side to remove it for inspection and cleaning. 2.

Excerpt: Pros are SIDEWAYS Tough DRIVE BAYS and SCREWS TO HOLD IN PCI CARDS. I wish all cases had been made this way. The front of this case is very flimsy and the locking front door is flimsy and useless. The case has a plastic screen to filter out dust, but it has a large gap in between it and the case so air will just go around it. Also the whole upper area of the case where the DVD drives go will also let in air once again making the filter useless.
Excerpt: Genuinely nice seeking case. Easy access to internals. screwless mounts for HD's and cards. Good filter on the front air inlet. About six months soon after getting the case, i noticed that it would reboot if I touched the front usb ports. I unplugged the cable connecting those ports to the board, and the similar thing kept happening. I lived with it a while, just avoiding the front ports, but I would accidentally brush against the ports each and every now and then.
Summary: The Sonata III looks quite refined in piano black but it is really just a gloss-painted steel tower case with a plastic front. It is very cramped inside and large parts of it are rivetted together, making access from the front panel and the second side panel impossible. The case has been designed from a security point of view rather than a silence point of view, which isn't really what the name 'Sonata' suggests.
