Antec P182 Advanced Super Mid Tower Case Review

Futurelooks
27 February 2008
  • Excerpt: Antec’s Performance One series of cases have been the recipients of much praise from the industry, with some going so far as to claim they are the de facto standard for inexpensive feature rich performance computer cases. We’re going to test that claim with the most recent addition to the Performance One line, the P182 Advanced Super Midtower.

Antec P182 Performance One ATX Case

Benchmark Reviews
5 October 2007
  • Conclusion: Packaging and presentation are always above-par with Antec, which is why it becomes a bit of a letdown when you open the box and the contents aren't just as glamorous. Although I like the Antec P182 Performance One ATX case overall, I just cannot bring myself to look at it as an attractive enclosure. I am personally a fan of black, but this is possibly just too much.
  • Pros: Legendary quality control, Research & development shine through, Liquid-cooling compatible, High strength reinforced steel construction, Plenty of primary working space, Excellent cooling performance, Unique chamber design isolates heat-generating components
  • Cons: Heavy! 36 LBS Empty!, Small power supply chamber, Appearance still needs work, Fans (all on high) are loud, Silicone rubber feet may peel off

  • Conclusion: When your a computer hardware enthusiast, finding a high quality case you love that will last for many years of hardware upgrades is a lot like searching for that perfect soul mate. The thing is when you do find that soul mate, you just know it because it feels right. The Antec P182 is the soul mate of computer cases. It's big enough to house pretty much any computer hardware, even large water cooling kits such as in the Swiftec P180 we reviewed a little while back.

  • Excerpt: But if you want the best, you're going to have to pay for it. At £74 the Antec P182 is beyond the budgets of many home system-builders, but it's such a superb piece of engineering that we'd recommend it every time.
