Loved it to start, but got tired of it

Timothy M., Newegg
26 March 2010
  • Summary: If you're going to drop this much cash to buy a case, get a 1200.
  • Pros: -Big -Lots of space for drives (disk drives are easy in/out sliding) -Dust Filters -Anyone with a bit of muscle can lift it -Never had heat problems
  • Cons: -Plastic in all the worst places -Terribly flimsy and annoying door -Side Panel is a pain -Fans are a bit loud, speed controlled via inside -Rubber legs fell off immediately My side panel bowed after about a year. Given, I was moving this machine every few months through college, but I was carefu...

Lacking decent cooling

Evan C., Newegg
6 March 2010
  • Summary: Would have really liked to see some side mounted fans as stock fans just don't cut it. After putting everything in on a new build, the interior is REALLY cramped limiting precious airflow even further.
  • Pros: Nice features such as removable hard drive bays top and bottom, muffles sound really well, cable management system is nice, and layout was pretty well designed for a simple tower.
  • Cons: Not a gaming case. Too small for most most of the full sized graphics cards and top hard drives to fit all in one: it was near impossible to get my GTS 250 in there. The stock fans are horrible. The cooling layout is just terrible to where the bottom hard drives don't have a fan or anything in fr...

Good Case, but plastic prone towards breakage

Justin B., Newegg
25 February 2010
  • Summary: I'm fairly miffed about the door. I've had the case 3+ years, and I've had to repair the door numerous times only to have it crack somewhere else. I expected better of Antec. I'm rarely motivated to write reviews. The disappointment I felt with the quality of product motivated me to write this.
  • Pros: Good size, Whisper Quiet, Easy to install most parts.
  • Cons: The door is poorly made. The plastic spine for the door is prone to crack and fall off with relatively little use. Certain spaces are hard to get to to install cables - Not a good case for a modular power supply. Heavy

Good and Bad

Hann-Hung Y., Newegg
5 January 2009
  • Summary: Use SATA drives and a modular PSU. You can actually run some power cables around outside between the case and side panel. You'll still be able to close the case and the wiring will be a little better.
  • Pros: It's quiet, not silent like some people here thought but a lot better than other cases I've played with. Seems solid enough. Not quite sure what the complaint on the door hooks snapping are but the panels can be hard to get on and off sometimes. Cooling is decent enough. Can't expect great coolin...
  • Cons: Very cramped. For a case this size there is not much room to work with. This was not designed for anyone still running IDE drives. Don't expect to fit more than 2 into the lower drive cage. Wiring is a nightmare as well. A modular PSU is recommended. There is a little room to stuff connectors you...

Things You Should Know

HomeView I., Newegg
18 December 2008
  • Summary: I ran out of space to write cons. The truth is there are better cases. Antec 1200 is bigger and will do the trick for you. Just remember you will run into similar problems with drive placement when using new video cards. However, it that case you have room to move things around.
  • Pros: Its build has lasted several years. However, the front door broke off in the first 3 weeks of owning it. It is quite compared to some cases when fans are set to low. Set high and it is loud enough to hear from the hall outside my office. If running older smaller video cards and a smaller power su...
  • Cons: No cable management system. The door hinge is weak and breaks off easy. Larger power supply such as Corsair 1000 will fit but you must remove the lower cooling fan and fabricate a mount at a new location. Case is not deep enough to fit modern Gaming Video Cards. If you install more then one you m...

Leise ist anders

lutz-lothar, Ciao
8 December 2006
  • Cons: hoher Geräuschpegel, Gewicht, Kabel schwer verlegbar
