Good job Antec

Matthew S., Newegg
6 July 2009
  • Summary: Latest version of iMon software runs well in Windows 7, and I'm sure will continue to improve.
  • Pros: Full ATX Case, Non-Windows Media Center remote (but works well with Media Center), compartmentalized for different heat chambers, fans are quiet.
  • Cons: Originally tried to setup Mythbuntu for an HTPC, linux support (as usual) is non-existent for the front panel. Front panel graphic EQ doesn't work in Windows 7 either.

Beautiful

  • Summary: I've only played with the IMON remote & software a bit, but seems very good as well. Starting to think I didn't need to order a Keyboard & Mouse, but oh well, only time will tell on that. I followed what others said, and I'm glad I did...BUY A MODULAR PSU!!!
  • Pros: Very nice case. Highly recomended. Lots of room inside. Even the Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme heat sink fits with no modification!!! Very solid.
  • Cons: Fans are loud, even slightly too loud at low speed. Replaced the 120 w/a Scythe S-Flex Medium Speed unit, added another for the Ultra 120 Extreme, and am currently waiting on an Aerocool Slipstream 140mm which should be just as quiet as the Scythe's. I do wish you didn't have to remove the hard d...

Got hooked by the pretty component system look

christopher R., Newegg
20 May 2009
  • Summary: Overall is ok. Just looks a little silly in my entertainment center because it dwarfs all my other components and sticks out of the front of my stand. probably will build one of those shuttle systems next time or go to a mini mac in the future just because I'm really over Microsoft.
  • Pros: Good overall look. Plenty of room..well ventilated. All the reviews on that were right on. Has all the plugins you'll need both front and back. VERY usable for all that you'd want out of an HTPC which is why I wanted it.
  • Cons: Too big for most entertainment centers. Cheap LCD display. Silly remote which is good for turning the thing on and THAT'S IT! Will look into getting a universal remote which I hope will work better with the DVD controls.

Best case I've ever owned

Anonymous, Newegg
13 March 2009
  • Summary: with last minute change of plans I supplemented the power supply I originally chose for a great deal on a bigger power supply, witch was larger in size and doesn't vent out the side and partially covers hole designed for cable pass through.
  • Pros: Great construction! Solid yet doesn't weigh a ton. Ventilation is great design is great, plenty of room for a full size video card or if full size card not needed room for 2 more drives.
  • Cons: absolutely nothing!

Great HTPC case

Anonymous, Newegg
11 March 2009
  • Summary: Haven't touched the remote since I purchased the diNovo keyboard. Other parts for HTPC are Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz, OCZ Reaper HPC Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB), 2x Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB, 1x Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB, SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with...
  • Pros: This HTPC case rocks. The case is large and has great cooling. I was skeptical at first about the hard drive mounts. After I figured out to just let them hang from the top down I really liked them. I have 2 x 1tb Raid1 and 1 x 640gb WD that are silent. Just like the Antec 1200 case all the air in...
  • Cons: There is a brace that makes motherboards with a 90 degree sata connections very tight. I managed to fit mine with the EVGA 730i by leaving the solid plate out where the front HD's mount. Both top and bottom sata's fit in still. This isn't really a con but a suggested improvement. The separate mou...

OK case, nothing to get excited about

James S., Newegg
22 February 2009
  • Summary: I bought a Plextor with a tray that across the entire faceplate. That meant that when I hit the button, the tray hit the DVD door stops on both sides. Fortunately, I had another DVD drive that I could drop in that had a smaller front to its tray. That one is working OK.
  • Pros: * Tall enough to take a CPU fan meant for a tower case. * Decent fans, not too noisy
  • Cons: * BIG. Pay attention to its dimensions when ordering for a small cabinet * Fans aren't all that quiet. * Fans can't be wired to motherboard control. Just switches on the back to set to quiet, medium, and roaring. * DVD door can be problematic. (see below) * The remote isn't very impressive.

Good, but not great

Derrek W., Newegg
6 January 2009
  • Summary: I'm satisfied with the case itself, but I've had it with the remote. Luckily iMon (the software that controls the IR remote) supports MCE remotes as well (I ordered one after 20 minutes of RM200 frustration).
  • Pros: Decent case design (interior and exterior), built-in IR receiver and includes remote (more on that later though), fans are very quiet, the FPD is decent and fairly customizable. I had very few problems getting it put together, the layout is a bit odd but it works.
  • Cons: The case is big. It's the size of a regular ATX case, so make sure it will fit where you're planning to put it. It's also not the cheapest thing in the world... The biggest con though is the remote. The RM200 has some serious problems. You use the joystick in the middle to move the mouse, but it ...

  • Summary: Running quad core 6gb ram with 4850 with 1gb vista 64 ultimate, and xbox 360 controllers on a 42’’ tv looks great
  • Pros: Big Looks good Big quiet fans
  • Cons: Bad use of space (hard drive chambers…) No dim on front display Silly air filters… Need more front usb if you ask me, like two not under a flip down cover.
