Antec 1100

Anonymous, Newegg
19 September 2013
  • Summary: Overall, I am keeping the case because returning cases is a hassle and it isn't all that bad. You likely will never notice most of the negatives once you've sealed the case up and start using it. I'd say this is a great high-end beginners case. Experienced system builders might prefer some of the amenities and polish other manufacturers provide (at higher prices), but this case is very good for its price.
  • Pros: Very spacious to work in. Hard drive mounting appears solid, even without screws. The overall design is very pleasing, and the case is quite light. There are plenty of spots for fan mounts if you need them, but the included 200mm/120mm provide good stock ventilation.
  • Cons: Its a lot of little things... The optical bay mount points are simultaneously amazing and a huge let down. They work on some sort of lever mechanism, which automatically locks itself in place when you insert the drive. It works amazingly. Except that lever is only on the left (main) side of the drive. There is nothing to secure the drive on the right side. Nothing. At. All. Not even screw holes. Just metal. If I push hard enough on the right side of my optical drive, ...

Big case, but a bit flimsy

Taroub A., Newegg
25 July 2013
  • Pros: It is a big case, so it has a lot of room for all the components and cable management The case is easy to work with.
  • Cons: Flimsy. The sheet metal for the case is thin. The tabs for the 5.25" cover broke easy.

Not bad but not great

Steven P., Newegg
22 May 2013
  • Summary: I gave 3 eggs because it really isn't a bad case for the money, but I expected better airflow being that it's a super mid. My GTX 680's cook inside this thing even with a proper airflow setup and fans blowing directly onto them.
  • Pros: Bigger than a mid tower. Nice enough looking case. Plenty of room to work with inside. Decent enough room behind the motherboard, decent enough fan mounts
  • Cons: Cheap side panel design. Plastic that breaks easily where you put the fans on. Stupid design of the side panel in general. Poor airflow and poor fans that come with it stock. I like Antec products and I realize this is a cheap case, but it doesn't mean I expect a total piece of junk. Fan filter on the front is useless.

Antec 1100

Kyle K., Newegg
18 April 2013
  • Summary: I have been an antec fan for years, had the 300 before this, thought id upgrade. Loved it until i fired it up and it began humming like crazy.
  • Pros: This case is great. Great airflow, sort of quiet. Put in a bunch of cougar fans. Love it. Runs my crossfire setup as cool as can be.
  • Cons: if i place all 4 feet on my desk, this thing hums like crazy. Cant figure out what i have done wrong or what is producing this hum. But when i slide a quarter under the front left foot. It is bearable. Might be something to do with the shoddy dual screw fan idea.

Case seems to be missing a few things, Poor QC?

Christopher C., Newegg
14 February 2013
  • Pros: I love the case, well made and will meet my needs very well. Love all the space but case might be missing some components. I gave it 3 eggs until I get to the bottom of the case issues.
  • Cons: Case appears to be incomplete, its missing all the cable routing grommets, and the top 200mm blue LED fan is DOA, the rear case fan is running fine so I know I have it powered correctly using the 4-pin molex connector. The blue led lights fine using the switch. I'll need to figure out a way to RMA this case to get one that is complete. Its a lot of work to install all your gear in it to find its not working and may need to do it all over again. Is there only supposed ...

Great case, Annoying 200mm Fan

Damon L., Newegg
26 January 2013
  • Summary: Decent case but there are better alternatives out there now. Save your money.
  • Pros: Fan Filters, Large CPU Cutout, Side Fans with Acrylic Window,
  • Cons: LOUD 200mm Fan, extremely loud. The fan hits the top of the case and makes a horrid racket. No radiator support at the top of the case. No fan filters on the side. USB 2.0 ports are doa.

User Review

Randolph A., Newegg
14 January 2013
  • Summary: My second Antec build, but probably my last. I've worked on dozens of computers, but I can't figure out something on this Antec case and need the manual.....which I cannot get. My second bad Antec experience; my last Antec case was missing a part and I could never get it from Antec. Not what you'd expect from a company with a reputation for good customer service.
  • Pros: The case looks good; plenty of fan mounting options and I wanted that, lots of space for multiple hard drives, good cable routing options....with room to work.
  • Cons: You'd think an Antec case would accept their own 120mm fans, but the supplied screws don't fit the pre-drilled holes and no manual comes with it. I can't download the manual, since their web site has been down for two days. A design flaw is their optional CPU fan; I did install an Antec fan there, but there is no way to mount an external dust screen. Kinda defeats the purpose of their otherwise nifty power supply fan dust screen and front fan dust screens if the optio...

You get what you pay for.

Anonymous, Newegg
30 August 2012
  • Summary: -Does not come with a manual, you have to go to Antec's website to download it. -Poor PSU airflow. Does not have sufficient clearance with the bottom of the case and floor, the dust filter only worsens the effect. -The fan controller hub is in a place that unless you have long, slender fingers, it's almost impossible to work with. -Slots on the back for fan control probably only fit Antec three speed switches. -SSD sticks out too close to the side panel.
  • Pros: +Tool-less design makes it easy to work with. +5.25" Drives are incredibly easy to install, just slide the drive in until you hear it lock and you're done. +Optional fans are a breeze to install. The two behind the HDD bay snap into place without any screws. The five others screw in place with the provided screws. +Dedicated SSD bay. Just slide the drive in and you're done. +Built in dust filters. +Wide with lots of room inside. +Cable management. There is a HUGE amou...
  • Cons: -Made with cheap materials, plastic and metal. -Cheap, flimsy fans. I exchanged 200/120mm fans from my old 900 and the build quality was very noticeable. -Default fans have no speed control and are not long enough to be plugged into the mobo for software control. -Ugly and horribly designed side window fan slots. Depending on your GPU, you might not be able to install them, or only able to install one without them hitting your graphics card. -Side panel doors are chea...

Exceptional Case

Janet J., Newegg
20 July 2012
  • Summary: The only other issue I had with this case was the top fans speed lever was broken off on delivery. Obviously this is not an issue of Antec, and almost inevitable with UPS... Come on Newegg, switch to 100% FedEx! This really is a good case for the price and do recommend it if the top fan noise is not an issue for you.
  • Pros: Great cable management! I don't have any cables going across my motherboard due to the space available behind the motherboard. If I had a lower quality PSU I would probably run into problems because of the distance the cables have to reach (CPU power cable was a bit of an issue but it reached), however this is expected. Ventilation is far better than my Antec Sonata III. I was running 4 HDDs which blocked the intake, plus dual video cards which would heat the case to ...
  • Cons: The top fan is my 1 and only serious issue. There is a rattle that seems to be caused by the grate at the top of the case bumping against the 200mm fan. This being an Antec case, which I consistantly talk up the brand for the PSUs and cases because of the quality and simply how quiet they usually are, I am not that impressed because it has obviously been overlooked. I can solve the issue by taking a rubber grommet from my old case and placing it between the grate and ...
