Antec DF-85 (Headphone Jack Fix)

PRESTON C., Newegg
12 September 2013
  • Summary: (I literally did this 5 minutes prior to writing this review and I want to share this with all of you out there in the same predicament) How to fix the headphone jack: Now for starts, if you've had this case for 1+ years, you've probably noticed by now that there's a considerable amount of plastic...
  • Pros: - Beautiful design; looks absolutely sinister with its red-on-black finish. - Red front/top/rear fans. The front set have red LEDs to continue that sinister look. - Front fans also have removable filters, which can be accessed by "opening" the fans (do this by pressing the left edge inwards and p...
  • Cons: - USB 3.0 Input: You basically have to run a semi-thick cable from the front of the case, to the back of the case and into your motherboard's USB 3.0 connector, so it's more like an extension cord to the front. - 3.5mm Headphone Jack: There's a design flaw with this case which basically makes ins...

Solid Case

Anonymous, Newegg
20 May 2013
  • Pros: This case has great Air Flow. Three fans in the front, two up top, and two in the back really keep things nice and cool. In fact, I'll go as far as saying its a bit overkill. In terms of Antec, this case also has great interior space. While still not on par with other manufactures, things will no...
  • Cons: I dropped an egg for my only real issue with the case. The two 120mm fans in the back are stacked directly on top of each other. This allows only 1 liquid cooling radiator to be installed. It is a bit frustrating, as I am really think about purchasing an ARES II. Now i need to see if the tubes wi...

Trevon G., Newegg
6 April 2013
  • Summary: A cant miss case
  • Pros: Full tower. Tons of fans and space. Removable Fan filters are nice. Tool less drive bay lockdowns.
  • Cons: Took an egg off because Ive had three different SSD drives now that will not line up in the top drive bay with the hot swap drive bay.

Solid case, but a few negitives

Zac S., Newegg
15 January 2013
  • Pros: Had this case for a year now. Came back to write a review after owning for a while. -Front fan filters are very nice and easily accessible for cleaning -Cable management is awesome. Tons of room on the back side to hide everything and plenty of holes on the board to feed the cable in the right pl...
  • Cons: A few things I think they could improve on. -The 3 latched covers on the front of the case to "hide" the drives are very fragile and unnecessary. Had to go through 2 cases to find one without one or more of these broken. They feel more "in the way" than anything else and I almost want to just rem...

Great case, a little cheap on materials though

William W., Newegg
11 January 2013
  • Summary: Overall I like this case very much. The filters are nice if you live in a dusty house, but are not for everyone. They help keep my PC's innards nice and dust-free, and even with the filters I feel its still devouring enough air to keep everything nice and cool.
  • Pros: Prior to owning this case I also owned its predecessor, the Antec 1200, and my review will be in comparison to it. I have now owned this case (and the build I now have) for ~6 months. The sheer amount of interior space is awesome. You can literally run almost any setup in this case and still have...
  • Cons: The main thing that knocks an egg off for this is the fan quality. Within a month of owning this I had to submit for a replacement top 140mm fan as the bearing went out. They sent me a Antec 3 speed as a replacement (versus the 2 speed standard), which I guess was kinda cool, except the speed con...

Great Full Tower

Stanley S., Newegg
19 November 2012
  • Summary: Make sure to mount the back I/O plate before you put on your motherboard if you want it on. It'll save you time. Make sure your motherboard has enough 3-pin fan power pins to support the whopping 7 fans on this case!
  • Pros: Size - This full tower delivers! Great room for expansion, SLI/Crossfire, etc. I have the GTX 670 and i7 2600k and everything stays incredibly cool on the inside. Cable Management - The DF-85 has plenty of room both inside the chasis and on the left side to hide your cables. Cooling - The 3 adjus...
  • Cons: After 3 weeks, one of the LED lights on the top fan went out. Of anything that could go wrong with my custom build, i didn't expect a light to go out. However, I contacted Antec and within one day they contacted me, made sure that I was the legitimate customer of the product, and replaced it. No ...

Awesome Airflow

Kenneth H., Newegg
11 November 2012
  • Summary: All in all a good case. It would have been a 5egg review but the cheapness of the front made it 4.
  • Pros: 3 fans in front, 2 on top and 2 on the back. Awesome air flow (never gets hot) Has enough room for the largest motherboards and the largest CPU coolers. The laptop hard drive (Or SSD) bay on the top of the case is amazing for quick data transfers.
  • Cons: The 3 front 5.25 bay covers feel really cheap. Though, they have not broke. The top bay is /almost/ impossible to use if you have an optical drive you want to use. It is possible to use it on the top bay, but its a hard bay to place a drive. Lastly, the 3 front fans also feel like cheap plastic a...

Awesome!

seth k., Newegg
27 October 2012
  • Summary: Pretty sick awesome case!! Gonna be a good one for my build I'm doing!
  • Pros: Awesome Case! Very sick looking with the Seven Fans and all the Bays!
  • Cons: First one I got was bent, and would sit right, as the side panel wouldn't go back on right so I had to RMA it. There for I give it 4 stars.

This thing is massive

Brandon B., Newegg
24 October 2012
  • Pros: Plenty of fans. Only running 3 right now, but I don't think my system needs anything else.
  • Cons: Doesn't come with converter's for the fans. They use a 3 pin female adapter. Had to go find a molex converter for them.
