Summary: Pros: -This product does what it says-Converts PC(vga) to Svideo or composite. -Watching lower res video translates really well to an older tv(with no digital input) Cons: -I do not believe there is a way to save the settings you make--so everytime you boot up you must change them. -Very Short Cables included -The VGA OUT(pass through) is not the same quality as the original output.
Summary: This product is quite easy to use. I have MacBook Pro and I connected that too my CRT TV using this and mini DVI port to VGA adapter, and the result is awesome. Now I can watch movies and games online on my TV. It has made my entertainment world quite complete.
Summary: I am a student that just finished my freshman year of college. While at school, I filled my 1 tb hard drive with movies and T.V. shows that I could watch over the summer. This converter was just what I needed to send my movies from my laptop to my older 32" t.v. set. Pros: Great value! Easy to hook up and use right out of the box. Movies look great on the t.v, its no HD, but that's to be expected with an older television and composite video.
Summary: This product is awsome. It took me about one hour to set up but once it was working everythings was good. The picture on my TV was great. The color, contrast, hue, etc can be adjusted to suit your taste. The only reason I gave it a four and not a five was because the wires are a bit short and the set-up instructions could be better. Also the s-video cable was not included as stated in the product details.
Summary: Bought this based on these reviews. The manual is kind of sucky but I used the instructions that one of the reviewers posted on this page (plus the manual) and it worked perfectly. Connected Motion Computing LE1700 running Windows 7 with Toshiba flat-screen non-LCD non-HD TV. TV picture had no vertical hold until I set the little switches on the device correctly. Didn't have to tell Windows 7 about new display; it just detected it automatically, which was cool.
Summary: No real instructions came with the product. The cable connections are easily guessed at but the actual setup, dip switches, on board menu usage and computer video and audio is all pure guess work. After about an hour, I got the video working though the picture quality is only fair. My computer, cable and DVD give MUCH better quality video. The device has NO capability to handle audio.
Great product & price for the need, be aware this conversion can not be made perfectly

Summary: INTRODUCTION: Heads-up: Most people aren't fully knowledgeable of this particular avenue of technology, meaning that contrary to what you might hope or have been told, you can't down-vert VGA to a TV resolution without quality loss. Most of the reviews which scathe this product and others, saying the quality sucks, might be true but they're not recognizing the fact it's a limitation of the technology--not the device.
Summary: I recently purchased this item (May 2010). The S-Video cable is missing even though the manual lists it as an included accessory. The install was a little confusing as the switch settings are not clear... the manual indicates the various on/off settings but you can't tell on the device which position is on and which is off. In my tests with Netflix movie streams on a 19" TV using the composite video it works okay. A bit fuzzy on a large wide-screen TV however.
Summary: This little box does exactly what I wanted it for. I set 1 little 'dip' switch to NTSC, and it worked. Now my little netbook is displayed on my old analog 50 inch tv. Small text is a little blurry. But, it works great for streaming movies and video onto the old big screen. Its not a second monitor for doing spreadsheets, but youtube and Amazon digital movies, and Netflix too, are a blast!
Summary: ummm ...missing cables --had to go buy one at Target. according to what i read online, i thought i wouldn't even need the s-video cable, b/c i thought this product came w/the 3-head component output cable (RCA connectors). but there was no s-video cable, no YPbPr component cable, and no sound cable ... so i'm listening to sound from my macbook while watching TV screen ...uuugggghhhh!!!!
