Summary: I got this as an upgrade from my serato sl1...as like the first sl1 the sl2 was pretty much ready to go out the box ...since I am current serato user all I had to do is plug it in and it found the drivers and I was out the door that same night with no problems using it at a gig..I had to get use to the thru being right on the screen next to the internal mode..I hit it by accident during the gig thinking I was placing it in internal mode..
Summary: Works great. this is perfect if you are only using 2 cd players or turntables which i think is more common. its just like sl3 or 4 only difference is you have 2 ports. you can use the direct link to the cdjs the same as sl3 etc. unless your a mixmaster turntablist using 3 or more devices and different devices sl2 is the way to go and to save money. I got it friday night and used it saturday night at the club. it also worked really well without the power supply.
Summary: Can't complain about the SL2. After being a loyal SL1 user for many many years, I knew there was no choice after it got stolen. Couldn't afford the SL3, but definitely didn't want to stoop down to any other brand besides Rane. Just remember - talent and ability are like age and wisdom - they don't always come hand in hand.
