Summary: So I have used this mixer for the last year. I do live sound and love the flexibility and all the included features. Reading some of the other reviews....1 I read said something about interference. Is it possible this is coming from another piece of gear you are using? I have never experienced anything of the such. The tech support is good if you call. I gave up on their email system. This really is by far the cleanest mixer I have ever used and I have worked with a few.
Summary: I run sound for all types of shows. I used to be a Mackie person all the way BUT then came along the best mixer I have ever worked with, the studio live! With 20+ years of experience and a musician and engineer I was very nervous about going digital I hate change) But at this price point I couldn't pass it up. The great (forget good): I can connect my MacBook to the mixer and record the show with 16 separate channels with really easy to use software!
Summary: You can look at the reviews I give. Almost all of them are very positive. IT ENDS HERE!!! The "Idea" of Studiolive is great! That is as far as Presonus got with this. I have owned this board for (almost) a year now. I have had NOTHING but problems. Like a previous person stated, It did not work out of the box with my firewire, so I had to upgrade my PC. Not a big deal. However, it is under CONSTANT Crash Control!
Summary: Buying one of these mixers is a real gamble on your part. You might get a good one. You might not. I got a bad one. It had bugs at first, but after a few days of 'use' it completely locked up and will not pass audio. My guess is that presonus knows exactly what the problems with these boards are, but they continue to sell them to people. If you get a bad one, it will be a pain in the rear to try and rectify the situation. Countless hours with tech support.
Summary: I've used the Studiolive for several years with a MacBook Pro and it works as advertised. Unbelievable sound quality. Great software. By far the most intuitive digital mixer that you can buy. I use Capture to record with but even more often we use it to do a virtual soundcheck. I've never had a problem with this mixer after many gigs and recordings. Highly recommended!!
Summary: Bought the 16.4.2 about two months ago. Problem #1 : When I tried to connect it to my PC, I had issues with the firewire connection. I tried to contact tech support - no answer. I finally figured it out on my own, bought another firewire card and solved the problem. Problem #2 : It comes with a bunch of cds, with no clear instructions on how to install them or if there is a sequence to installing the cds.
Summary: I was looking for a board that acted like an analog board live (in terms of IO) and yet had the abilities to record and had the power to fully process signals without having to buy additional racks of effects. This board delivers all of that and more! Up front though, you need to know that if you want to record audio via FireWire on your laptop, you will very likely need to get one of the recommended FireWire Expresscards that have a TI Chipset even if your computer has...
Presonus Tech Support and Studio Live Mixer Problems

Summary: Presonus Studio Live Review Presonus did a good job designing this mixer and as live mixers go I'm sure it would be nice. However this mixer is advertised as a device that is supposed to work with computers via fire wire. In my case the Studio Live failed miserably. In addition... working with Presonus Technical Support was very disappointing and very time consuming.
Summary: I bought the StudioLive about a month ago and have been playing with it since then in preparation for winter concert season. The first thing I did was connect a mic to every input and test the gain, routing, and outputs for every channel. Everything worked flawlessly, sounded great, and was easy to do. Sound Quality The sound quality on this is amazing.
Summary: Bought the StudioLive 3 months ago. The Good. After running an Alesis 32 analog board for 10 years, decided to go digital. I also owned 2 firepods, and the HP4, made by Presonus. I was impressed by their clean sound, so after researching the just released StudioLive, it seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. The price was great. The Tech support had always been very good. It had almost all the requirements I was looking for, so I bought it. The Bad.
