Very good product, just some problem with phantom power
6 July 2014
Summary: It's a good interface, really versatile product. The M5 microphone is very high quality, as the cable, and Studio One is actually one of the best softwares on the market. However, I got some problem with phantom power, there's a white noise when it's activated. I searched on web and somebody said that's because the USB power is insufficient. I can't solved this problem yet. I'm using now this interface with a Shure SM57 microphone and I'm very happy with the results.
Presonus has very good products that are clean and very functional.

Summary: It works really good, but I have firewire devices as well and my DAW doesn't work with both kinds simultaniously, and that was something I didn't know. The unit itself I'll mostly use as a remote recording device. It's a very simple device and very clean ad/da for the price. I like it also because it comes with built in gate/compressor/eq/reverb which will be very handy when recording instruments or vocals that have a lot of dynamic range.
Summary: I bought this awhile ago after having used one extensively to record a cd on a mac with garageband. It is one of the best/most affordable products that I have ever used to record music. I don't have years and years of recording experience, but I have messed around with different mics and recording software and have come to find that Presonus makes some excellent stuff. The firebox is no exception. I really like it a lot, and the simplicity of it makes it a breeze to use.
Summary: I purchased this item from GeorgeTown01 through Amazon. The sale was first canceled showing out of stock. The company then emailed me to let me know he did get the item back in stock and If wanted to re-order I could. After re-ordering GeorgeTown01 sent the item to me overnight at no extra charge which I appreciated. The only complaint I have this was advertised as a new item and definetely was not.
Summary: I'm just going to expand on a few things already said here. I've been working with the Audiobox for several days now and have tested just about everything I have in my studio through it. I have a Dell Core-2 Quad desktop and a HP DV5-1010 laptop. I wanted a mobile setup so I got the Audiobox after returning a Focusrite Pro24--probably nothing wrong with it, but I couldn't get it to work with my laptop--but then, I can't get any firewire device to work properly with it.
Summary: I exchanged a M-Audio Fast Track that was effn horrible for this interface and this has treated me well. It was bundled with Studio One Artist and both are great. I gave it 4 stars b/c it could use more in's and out's and produces minimal low pops (once ever 30mins or so). And the very low infrequent pops do not show up in the recording....I'm happy!
Summary: Works beautifully with my old (2006) MacBook Pro. Very solid construction, surprisingly low latency, super clean output (using balanced output to connect to Genelec monitors). One minor unexpected downside is that I can't control the output volume via the Mac keyboard. To control the output volume, I must use the volume control knobs on the AudioBox itself.
great preamp; difficulties installing software on Windows 7

Summary: So basically i give 5 stars for the audiobox, and 3 for the compatibility of the software with windows 7. The audiobox itself is an excellent device for recording. Presonus always has great amps and they've included them in the audiobox and in my mind blows out other small preamp/audio interface devices. More than adequate for any amateur artist.
