Excerpt: I liked the first one on my CS5 workstation so much that I bought another one later in 2013 for my CS6 workstation. Both still work great. There are several things I find that make the Matrox MX02 mini very useful: 1. Consumer TV calibration. You can calibrate HDTVs for post color work without having to buy a very expensive monitor. For instance, my workstations use two monitors for the software I am running and then a connnected HDTV to preview the video ouput as I am...
Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Saves Time, Simple
Excerpt: I use this for outputing to an external monitor, and it gives great images using the HDMI connections. Previously used a Black Magic Intensity Pro, but not very reliable (sometimes it worked ok but often not - think a driver problem) I have not used the capturing facility yet.
Pros: Easy To Collaborate Across Programs, Versatile
Excerpt: I've used the Matrox Mini Max now for several years for I/O on both a laptop and the tower in my office with no problems. I have flashed the firmware with need changes for OS and edit platform and it all works very seamlessly. Taking it on the road gives me a portable edit suite with lots of flexibility and options in a small package.
Pros: Easy to Customize, Easy to Navigate, Flexible, Versatile
Excerpt: I use the Matrox MXO2 Mini to interface with Media Composer v7. It gives me HDMI output to my video monitor so that the final output can be viewed in final output form. The only problem that I have with it is that the interface cable is much too short so I needed to buy the longer cable which incurred an extra expense. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
Pros: Attractive Design, Fast Setup, Simple Controls
Excerpt: I use this to monitor full screen HDMI video and stereo audio out of the Avid platform on Win 7. Works as advertised. Be sure to download the latest driver from the Matrox site and install your application before installing the PCIe card or Matrox software. Installation is easy. Chose not to spend the extra money for the MAX version because Sorenson Squeeze doesn't take advantage of the H.264 accelerator.
Excerpt: I am editing with Avid Media Composer 5.5.3. The Matrox Mini feeds my video monitor from Avid and also Photoshop. It is great to preview a Photoshop file on a video monitor. Matrox has great phone support that made setup a breeze. I have audio in the monitor via hdmi and also to the audio monitors from the box itself. I just love it.
Excerpt: The only problem I have is with Matrox and not this product. Driver installation has always been a problem with them. If you have issues during the setup process, do not waste time trying to solve it. Instead call tech support since a lot of the issues are not documented on their site. The MAX technology that they advertise is still at question with me. Early testing has not achieved great results.
Excerpt: Works as advertised out of the box. Configuration with Adobe CS6 and my HP Win 7 system was fairly easy, but am having a few issues with audio device settings. Replaced a Matrox RT.X because it was not supported for CS6 anymore. With changing workflow, the MX02 does the job at a fraction of the price.
Excerpt: Bought this to speed up encodes for a HUGE project - 60 minute VOD piece for CBS. Encodes worked ok - pro-res to H.264 in about 2x realtime on my older dual-core 2.66 Xeon Mac Pro. Encodes are about realtime on my 2.2 core i7 laptop. But where it really saved our fanny is on the ingest - a colleague failed to provide the proper equipment to capture the stadium's jumbotron feed but was able to (with the help of an AJA HD-SDI to HDMI converter) ingest and simultaneously...
Pros: Compact Design, Easy To Use, Highly Compatible, Improves Performance, Lightweight, Professional Quality
