Logitech io2 Digital Writing System Review
18 January 2005
Conclusion: After installing the software driver, you plug in the USB cradle. Both the software install and plug-and-play detection worked flawlessly on our test system -- not always the case with other devices we've tested -- and charging, which the manual warns can take up to five hours, took us only 90 minutes.
Conclusion: Logitech offer an interesting tool into the office, but is there a need for such a device? In fairness, the pen isn't heavy, and its bulk does give some comfort to the hand. You won't be short of ink, but even for a seasoned PDA user, wise to the perils of ICR, the special paper is too infuriating for words. If you have to take notes, or, like me, you simply pepper your working environment with post it notes, this could be of some use.
Pros: Transfers text from pen to PC, converting to email and word documents
Cons: ICR can be tiresome. Short battery life. Reliance on special paper limits use.
