Summary: I bought this keyboard/folio knowing well and good from the reviews that the notebook material was a bit shabby but the keyboard was decent. I owned this item for a little over a month and a half when I discovered the 'E' key had fallen off. I contacted Kensington and asked for a replacement key and was told they can't replace single keys. I then asked for a replacement keyboard and was told they wouldn't do that either.
Summary: Received the KeyFolio K39357US for Xmas, with my new iPad 3, and though the keyboard and case are fine (a little bulky, and the angle is no good, both unnecessarily so), the REAL problem I have with this product is something for which I've found no correction: it often slips into some sort of weird repeat key mode, so I'll be typing merrily away - on a plane, at work, or at home - and suddenly the keystrokes start repeating.
Summary: I didn't understand what other one star reviews meant by vertical angle until I bought the product myself. Allow me to elucidate- this means the screen is standing almost perpendicular to the keyboard. In other words, it is almost 90-degree. What is the big deal? Since an average person's eye level is 3.5 feet above the ground, this 90-degree angle makes it very uncomfortable to read when it is placed on a person's lap or on a table.
Summary: Fit for my iPad 2 was okay but not snug as I would have liked. Not good range of angles for propping up iPad. Keys very soft, but unfortunately the 'softness' led them to be not very responsive to strokes...sometimes had to hit same key several times before it would even register on the screen. Some keys on the right hand side of keyboard were in peculiar positions instead of as on a standard keyboard.
Summary: I usually look at reviews pretty closely before buying things like this, but this one slipped through in a moment of weakness during a Black Friday sale. Despite what you see in the picture the iPad does NOT lean back at any angle at all. It sits at a 90-degree angle to the keyboard, which makes it completely useless in any application I can think of. You certainly can't sit on the couch or at your desk with it.
Summary: bought two of these keyboards, the first worked for about a month, then stopped functioning, was able to return it for a complete and full refund; the second keyboard never worked form the moment I received it. Quite frustrated with this. Have known others who have used this brand of keyboard, as well as other Kensignton products, who have been quite happy, which is why I was talked into the second purchase. I could not be talked into a third.
Summary: There are 2 things that i like about this product, but one flaw in this product really makes me hate this product. Pro: The leather casing is very nice and the keyboard is are responsive. Con: There is only one angle in which the iPad can tilt toward. the angle does not work well unless you est it on the computer and are sitting on the floor. This product is not practical!
