Summary: Does only one thing, and it does it well, brew the coffee!!! This replaced a Cuisinart grinder/coffee maker. This machine has no timer, no grinder, no clock. But it has a mechanism that brews coffee to perfection. The only thing I find annoying is the plastic base the carafe sits on. It has a groove that matches the bottom of the coffee maker but it does not lock in place so when sliding the coffee maker around, this piece comes dislodged.
Perfect if you are up for a coffee ritual to produce unparalleled coffee.

Summary: We upgraded to the Technivorm Moccamaster after three Zojirushi coffeemakers over about 10 years (still an excellent product, by the way) and a Cuisinart before that. We loved the convenience of the Zojirushis and their automatic timer, but at the end of the day, we kept wondering if we could get a better morning cup. So when we saw Cook's Illustrated recommend this one, we took the plunge.
Summary: This coffee maker is wonderful. All of my life, I have searched for a coffeemaker that would make consistently good coffee. I have had some good coffeemakers before, but this has them all beat. The Bonavita may be less money, but it is unlikely that their maker will last as long as the Moccamaster because they do not have the quality of inner workings that the Technivorm has. I would recommend spending the extra money and thus being happier for years to come!
Summary: This is the best coffee maker I have ever had... I like it so much... I ordered a second one for our beach house. Not only does it make excellent coffee but it is incredibly simple to set up and use... no extra buttons to push, timers to set, etc... It just makes a great tasting pot of coffee in about 5 minutes and you can pour a cup early... Although most of the time, the coffee is brewed by the time I get around to pouring my first cup.
Summary: We've had this coffee maker for ~5 years and it still makes great coffee. It's a very simple, very well made machine - no timer or integrated grinder even the flow shut-off to get a cup before brewing is finished is a manual slide switch on the brew basket. I like that. Less to break/malfunction. The expense is in the inside of the machine - a high quality pump and heating element that will last for years. It's not a pretty machine, but it's built for the long run.
Summary: As a coffee lover, this coffeemaker is easy to use, easy to clean and makes coffee (even robust dark fresh ground coffees) without bitterness, Far superior to the Cuisenarts, Bruns, Mr. Coffees etc. Well worth the price.
Summary: I purchased this particular coffee maker after seeing a review and recomendation on America's Test Kitchen. I have been using it for a few weeks and really like it. It is very simple and utilitarian. It brews perfect coffee fast. Some people may want a model that can be programmed to turn on automatically.
