Summary: Ordered online 2/13. After 4 months the green segments in the display stopped working. Kept using it for a while since it was already programmed but no green pixels would make that nearly impossible. Then started having an issue with fresh grounds being deposited outside the receptacle in the brewhead. Big mess and crummy coffee. Returned unit to local Costco where, as usual, I was offered an immediate full refund.
Pros: sorry no pro if it doesn't last even a year
Cons: difficult to program display failed returned
Summary: After spending an hour reading and studying the enormous manual for this machine, I followed the priming procedure that the manufacturer recommended for a first time use. No luck. The machine would not prime (or work) after repeated attempts. At this price, I am returning it for a refund. My sense is that these machines are like expensive Italian cars -- they are very complicated, break down often, and are difficult to repair. I will buy my espresso at Starbucks.
Summary: Overall I am happy with the purchase. It makes good espresso and is easy to use. You can program how much espresso and milk you want. It is sold a as a cappuccino maker but I would say it just makes lattes. This is fine with me but if you are really looking for a machine that makes cappuccino you might be disappointed. One thing I do not like about the machine is that the milk is not hot enough. There is a setting to make the espresso warmer but not the milk.
Excelente cafetera/capuchinera con molino de granos de café incluido
3 May 2013
Summary: -the coffee turns out bitter -frothing is poor, very thin foam that dissipates in a couple of minutes -the milk spoils after a couple of days in the container -all receptacles are really small and it becomes very annoying after a couple of weeks - water tank leaked
Summary: i have had this coffee maker for a few years and it works ok, but the coffee is alway cool. i have to microwave it to have hot coffee.. it continuously sheds coffee grains out the back.. it is out of warranty now and costs mega dollars just to have it looked at. i will buy the odea next as i have one at my other home.
Summary: I took the machine back to Costco right after unpacking it because it looks like it is not finished. At this price I expected it to be an attractive piece of equipment on my counter, instead it looked like the drip tray was missing a cover. At first I thought that indeed they forgot to include the cover in my shipment, but then realized that this was the actual look, nothing was missing. I returned the machine to Costco.
Summary: This is only my first week using this machine. It is pretty intuitive. For those who don't like reading manuals (I am one of those), there is a great interactive demo available on this site. I like the taste of my espresso which is quite different from another Saeco model we just returned back to Costco. And yes, I would prefer less plastic and more glass hence 4 stars.
Summary: Machine is amazing but yes you need to read the instruction. Milk container and water container should be made out of glass not plastic. Due to efficiency it is "romantic couple" not "office" machine.
