Summary: I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I love Starbucks. My wife loves Starbucks, but for some reason she wanted a single-cup coffee maker for Mother's Day. She never drinks coffee - always some sort of latte or frou-frou drink from Starbucks. Thinking i could read her mind - I went out on a limb and decided what she really meant was 'I want an idiot proof espresso maker so I can make my own lattes.
Summary: The Nespresso machines produce 1-4oz of coffee at a time. That's not a mug or travel cup, but a small, strong, but very drinkable brew. I state this because I have read reviews of pod machines, written by good ol' folks that drag them into the ground because they don't make quarts of coffee at a time. This is an espresso producing machine, not the local 7-11. I received my re-conditioned D290 about a month ago.
Awesome Espresso and Cappuccino -- But At A Cost (5- stars)

Summary: At one time I owned a Krups espresso/cappuccino machine that I ended up using for only a few months since it was such a pain to set up and clean. Right now, it's sitting in my basement, gathering cobwebs. However, when I received this Nespresso machine as a gift, I now can have cappuccino whenever I want in mere minutes.
Summary: I have wanted an espresso machine for years, but my husband said I was sure to lose interest quickly and leave the expensive machine unused on the counter top. I use it every day! Sometimes, two or three times. I add a shot to a cup of brewed coffee, or I make a double shot -- one regular, one decaf -- when I need a lift. Relatives and other visitors use it constantly and wish they had one.
