Summary: I replaced a Krups Centro 888 with the XP2070 and am very sorry that my Cafe Centro became troublesome. The XP2070 is a piece of junk. The plastic housing began to melt and warp after 2 weeks of use. It continued to warp to the point that the machine is now useless. Krups Customer Service informs me that my XP2070 was manufactured over 5 years before I bought it and since I bought it on eBay rather than one of their "recognized retailers", there is no warranty.
Summary: Surprisingly a good item. We have been pleased with the functionality and quality, so far. (We have only had it for a little over 2 weeks and have not had any of the issues mentioned by other reviewers) We love the fact we can program the coffer maker to start brewing at 6AM or anytime we want. The expresso maker is wonderful. However, frothing milk for a latte can be improved. (not sure if its a user error) I can't get the milk to froth properly but it is nice and hot.
Summary: The Krups 2070 is a very versatile machine, well-designed and easy to use. It makes excellent coffee and a good cup of espresso with a nice crema. Higher end machines will make a stronger cup with more crema, but cost you at least twice as much and will make only espresso. If you have a small kitchen and room for only one coffeemaker this is it. The only shortcoming of this product is that the control electronics aren't as robust as the rest of the machine.
Summary: As a traveling nurse nothing is more important to me than coffee. The XP2070 is perfect for me. A 40' R.V. looks big when you are next to it in traffic, but once inside it gets crowded pretty fast. The XP has a small footprint but delivers a great cup of coffee. 15 bars makes a nice creama on the espresso side. You do have to be pretty precise with the grind on your espresso with this machine, but, with a little tuning you get great results.
Summary: Just read the reviews in this link. I am amazed some people actually have one that works??? My suggestion to all of you who think this is a wonderful product is to try and get 1yr + of use from it without it breaking. We are just about to consign our $350 machine to the trash can. As you can imagine I am not that happy about it! Do not buy this Krups item it is a piece of junk!!!
Summary: I did much research on these combo units when I was seeking a solution for my coffee/latte needs. Pretty much every one of these combo units received "eh" to poor reviews. This one did better than the rest, so I took a chance. About a few months into it, the espresso maker was acting strange. Just shutting off in mid-brew. I tried descaling the machine and did make some improvements, but it still gave me problems every now and then.
Summary: We got the Krups XP2070 for a wedding gift about a year and a half ago. It was great for the first year. Makes good coffee. Espresso machine works great. We were definitely very satisfied. However, after a little over a year I came into the kitchen one morning to find the coffee machine dead...no display, no reaction to any button pushing, nothing. Took it to a local repair shop, since Krups only give you a 1 year limited warranty.
Summary: Sent in $1000 cappuccino machine for recall and service. Six months later, still waiting. Called Krups Customer Service and the most helpful thing " Tom ", the " Supervisor " could say was " Have a Nice Evening ". Yikes ! If it breaks, throw it away. Their service Dept. does not seem to function.
Summary: $300 for just over a years worth of coffee making. Obviously this machine is horribly flawed (just look at the reviews). Some shred of customer service from krups would have been nice. Last krups item I ever buy.
