Summary: I paid 59.99 (!) for this machine, have had it for almost a year now, use it every day, and it still works perfectly. I've read a couple of reviewers saying the machine 'blew up' the first time they used it. I suspect this is user error. This machine is so simple, it could be from the 19th century.
Summary: I ordered the Krups Espresso Machine on my daughter's recommendation, after three other machines had broken in a short period of time. I love the coffee it makes. It is easy to use and clean and completes the brewing and steaming process quickly. It is more substantial than my previous machines and my daughter's is going strong after constant use, going on four years now. I also enjoy the free shipping in two days that comes with my Amazon card.
Summary: This is a very cost-effective Espresso maker which makes excellent espresso, and is quite easy to use. The steam vent froths milk quite well, and is easy to use, as well. If you like espresso and/or cappuccino, this is highly recommended.
Summary: I liked the old Krups 841 steamer because I could brew espresso while I steamed and frothed the milk. No more. It's either-or with this unit and so many like it. But with new comes improved carafe lid, a simpler steam-froth head, easy-clean surfaces, simpler brew basket that locks in for fast dump and fill of grounds. It's a good product...just not exactly like the one that gave service for nearly 15 years...and failed because the on-off switch quit.
