Summary: This is the second time I purchased the same kind of esp. machine. (Krups!) The previous one lasted for 2 years... (I have made 3-6 cappuccinos daily, so, I used it a lot.)In the meantime I bought a Roma Esp. Machine that I had to send back to the store..
Summary: I have had my machine for about 2 months now. I love it! I have no idea where all of the negative comments have come from. The only real trick is learning to pack and tamp the pod correctly. And that is a fact for any espresso machine in the world! I leave the removable tank in the machine.
Summary: It's a Love/Hate relationship with the Krups XP-4030; built like a tank, heavy as lead, you expect this unit to last a lifetime...but it doesn't. It does do it's job VERY well...for awhile. I've owned two of these, and liked the first so well that when I found a used one, I bit again..
Summary: I bought a re-manufactured XP-4030 about a year ago and it has been performing steadily for a year with no problems. I just picked up a second one as a gift for my dad. I think this unit is the best pump unit you're going to get for under $200.
Summary: This is a very stylish looking machine with some neat features like a flexible steam wand, a spot in the water basket lid to hold extra filters and a handy slide out tray to help you dump overflows and spills.
Summary: I bought this machine about a year ago. After 2-3 months the gasket that seals the connection of the coffee filter to the machine started leaking. A design flaw of the machine is a hard stop that prevents tightening the basket just a bit more to stop the leaking around the basket when the gasket...
Summary: This unit has its quirks, as detailed in other reviews, but works fine once you figure out that the water tank needs to be pushed down, wait for the little orange light to turn off, etc. But it has one fatal flaw. The water for the espresso is not heated hot enough.
Summary: This was the third Krups espresso maker I've owned. First a steam machine that lasted several years, then the previous version of this machine that lasted 6 or 7 years. I bought this model and the first one didn't make steam at all.
