Very happy with this purchase and NOT having the problems described in bad reviews

Summary: Pros: very easy to program, and coffee stays hot for hours without a heating tray to burn the coffee. Have NOT experienced the coffee all over the counter problem referenced in several reviews, and think Krups may have updated the lid on the carafe in response to this issue. Cons: water "meter" is difficult to read, and you can't see the actual water line to measure out a single cup (i.e. meter jumps from 6 to 8, so 7 isn't an option).
Summary: OK, if you are like me, when you make coffee in the early morning (0500) you're not firing on all cylinders. Unfortunately, the nice feature of insulated caraff works against the "bleary" mind. So, if you forget to dump yesterday's coffee and make fresh, the unit (obviously) overflows, making the first task of the day "clean-up" not wake up. Too bad they didn't figure out a way to have an indicator that there is still liquid in the caraff.
Summary: I've used various Krups products for years. I bought this item based on its design and features. Bought it despite warnings about the quality of the carafe and a tendency to malfunction and pour coffee all over your counter top. Well duh. The carafe issue was solved by pre-heating it with hot water. That keeps the coffee very hot for several hours, well past what I need for my morning's three cups. But recently the spillage problem has reared its head.
Summary: I wanted a coffee maker that could be programmed, would keep my brew warm without burning it (or the house down), and would, in general, make coffee. It can do the first two of those requirements, but it fails so solidly on the last that one tends to forget anything else. First, the designers of this model were clearly tea drinkers.
Summary: I have used this coffeemaker for the last time. Despite my efforts to make sure the pot lid and the filter hole are perfectly aligned, the coffeemaker is on a perfectly level surface, and the little hole stopper in the pot lid is positioned correctly, this coffee pot overflows onto the countertop almost as often as it makes a pot of coffee correctly.
Summary: I read all of the (mostly negative) reviews. All of the "issues" were easy to deal with - position the carafe properly, clean the top, and don't use the carafe to fill the reservoir. Net result - great coffee every time, and if you pre-heat the carafe it stays hot for 1+ hours. Programming is easy, and having weekday and weekend times is a great idea.
Summary: While I have always been pleased with the Krups line of products , this one is more difficult to operate. It may just be me however in the past it was easy and efficient. Coffee will get cold whne it should remain hot.
Summary: We dreaded changing to a new coffee maker....we searched and then held our breath when this Krups arrived....it makes the best coffee ever!!! The extra aroma button is the key....just push it in, and presto you have a full bodied cup of joe!!
Summary: The last Krups coffee maker I had, an FMF5, lasted about 35 days before the electronics failed. It also developed a very dangerous habit of turning itself back on after it had shut down post brewing. Krups customer service was less than gracious about taking the machine back for replacement. That's the last time I will buy one of their products.
