Summary: The carafe leaks like crazy, no matter what you try. Worst of all, Krups is well aware the problem exists, but still sells the product. And from Krups service, all one got was a hassle request for the original sales receipt, etc., translate to mean stall before fixing the problem in hopes the customer complaint goes away. So, we sent back the whole works. A zero star Dumkopf rating for the Krups reputation on this one.
Summary: ordered this but then realized it was a three or four year old model and returned it. ended up getting a new model coffee maker. Return went like clockwork, cannot say anything but positive about the seller. just didn't want the coffee maker. Don't know why people sell years old models even if there new.
Summary: Krups is well aware of the carafe design flaw. I don't know how it ever made it past any inspection....German inspections, no less. :). If you will contact Krups USA, they will send you a new carafe that works perfectly well. I suffered with my original one for six months before discovering this. What makes the coffee so great is that this baby packs a whopping 1400 Watts. None of their new models offer more than 1100 W.
Summary: The Type KM 100C, Ret KM100050/353111 is horrible and not worth the money. What a miserably bad design that could not have been tested well. The funnel device that you put coffee in must be pushed down, turned and locked in place before putting the lid on or its outlet below to the pot will be blocked and coffee and coffee grounds will go all over the machine, in all its nooks and crannies, plus on the counter and on the floor. Bad design!
Summary: The tank heater failed after 3 months use. Krups did replace it; but 6 months later the hotplate material deterriorated. Krups Little Rock Service Center returned it 1-1/2 months later; unrepaired, very scratched, wet and filthy inside the housing unit (the shipping box was clean, this was inside the mfg. box). I returned it again. They replaced the unit a month later; with a completely different model that had NO FEATURES of the KM8l05 other than it would drip coffee.
Summary: Thanks for the reviews. I was about to buy the unit. You saved me from a mistake! The leaking water tank was the key - I don't need any more messes - or water leaks with products that plug into 120vAC...
Summary: I am sorry to say this is nothing but a piece of garbage. Yes, the pot drips. Yes, they will send you another carafe. It drips, too. The tank started to leak after 6 months. It's so bad that you cannot use the auto program because you'll wake up to water all over the counter. The finish on the warmer is failing. The latest failure is the drawer that holds the filter and coffee.
Summary: This is a nice looking coffee maker that I picked up for $15.00. I got ripped off! Not just one major flaw but many. It is difficult to add water to this machine without removing the tank because it is difficult to know how many cups you are adding. The level lines are on the back of the tank and can be difficult to see without turning the coffee maker around or removing the tank.
