Summary: There is nothing to dislike about this machine. It solves the problems associated with the Melitta (flimsy construction) and the Cusine Art (insanely intense cleaning requirements). It solves these problems with aplomb and with only a modest increase in price. This refers only to grind and brew machines of those brands mentioned.
Summary: We bought this machine back in November before it was available at retailers. I love this machine as it is so convenient to wake up to coffee that is ground with a burr grinder. It is a bit messy but I don't mind that and we use the noise as our alarm clock. We had to adjust the amount of beans that we put in as we do like strong coffee so find that we have to use 2 additional scoops vs. grinding it ourselves. Worth it to have fresh coffee waiting in the morning.
Summary: We had a Krups Coffee Maker for 15 years and it finally called it "quits." Since we had such a wonderful experience with it, we decided to check Krups for a coffee maker that also ground the beans. I was having to grind each pot before making coffee. I had read all the reviews on this particular model and although I was a bit unsure from a couple of the reviews, I decided to go for it. We have had the coffee maker for about a month now and what JOY! It is so easy to use.
Summary: I've had the same Krups drip coffee maker for 20 years (yes, it still works) and decided it was time to upgrade. After a good deal of research, I settled on the Krups grind and brew and I am glad I did. This is the real deal here folks. While I do have to measure the beans, and I had to set the strength to my liking, this machine makes a superb cup of coffee.
Well designed grind & brew system - but flawed electrical system

Summary: ---- UPDATE May 2010 --- I am changing the original enthusiastic 5-star review to a 1-star. The original unit suffered the same fate as many have noted in their reviews - the heating element suddenly ceases to work. The problem appears to be a fusible link that will eventually fail even though there is no short or other problem in the electrical system to cause the failure.
Summary: This is my first coffee machine so I don't have much to compare it against but I LOVE it! It makes superb, rich coffee that is easily the rival of Starbuck's. The burr grinding works well and only takes a few seconds to grind the necessary amount of beans. The unit is 16 inches high so make sure you have counter space for it. The only downside I've found is the brew pail is tricky to replace after cleaning the filter.
Summary: The Grind-and-Brew works as advertised. It took me a couple tries to get the strength of the coffee to my taste. It's a bit tall for my counter, so I have to pull it out from under the cabinets to fill it with water. Some of the plastic parts don't seem especially durable, but time will tell. The grinder is not a loud as a blender, but it's not quiet either. Overall, I'm happy with it.
Summary: This coffee maker was a christmas gift so I've had it for about three weeks. I only have a few coffee grounds on the counter (fewer than when I ground them separately). The grinding noise is not too loud for us. The automatic brew starts when our alarm goes off (I always hit snooze once so the coffee is finishing up as I'm wobbling toward the kitchen). It took about three days of adjusting the strength and grind to find our preferred strength.
Summary: I received this coffee maker a few months ago and have been on a caffeine buzz ever since. It makes a wonderful "hot" cup of coffee, something that was very important to me, but that other coffee makers didn't do. Also, the grinder which is a burr(good) not a blade(bad) is separate from the water unit so steam doesn't build-up and cause the grinds to clog requiring a cleaning after each use, this was a big problem with the Cuisinart, among many other things.
Summary: I purchased this looking for the perfect solution of convenience and great coffee, however, didn't end up with either. First- I had the similar problem to several other reviewers. After grinding the coffee, the machine proceeds to SPRAY THE GROUNDS ALL OVER THE COUNTER. I would say 30% of what was ground never made it into the basket.
