Summary: When it works properly, which unfortunately is a rare event, it makes great coffee. The first unit we purchased had issues with the grinder. It did not grind the right amount of coffee for the number of cups selected. We returned that and were sent a new one. That one worked great for awhile. But then the instrument panel went dead. It's an electronic display, so you could not see any of the settings (like # cups, brew strength, etc.).
Summary: There was a wbsite that linked to a way to fix the item. It was basically some engineer who spent a few months cobbling something together in a way no normal customer could.
Pros: When it worked: It had many settings to choose from aroma, grind size, cup amount, strength, or when to brew. The conical burr was fantastic and the coffee was easy to get to a level the drinker would like. It was easy to operate.
Cons: Too much plastic. The lid on the carafe broke just buy lifting it to dump out excess coffee. The spoke caught and the weight snapped it. Its garbage. The main reason to not buy this: The heating element goes on these units just AFTER the warranty is up. If you google this product, you will see that many people have had the element go at 13+ months on a 12 month warranty. Most also complain that the company's customer service is...far from helpful or understanding. Pre...
Summary: So far this has been a very good coffee pot. It brews a very good flavor coffee. This almost as good as Starbucks when using Starbucks coffee beans. I wish that it had an automatic shutoff and a better designed coffee pot. It drips when you get to the last part of the pot.
Summary: I've been using this product for a few weeks now and in general, I am happy with it. It does make good coffee. Also, the conical burr grinder is quiet compared to other coffee grinders I have used and it produces a consistent grind. Futhermore, this coffee maker uses the V-type filters instead of the flat-bottom filters that Cuisinart and Capresso use which gives it an inherent advantage over those 2 products. There are 2 main shortcomings as far as I am concerned.
Beware...Krups provides VERY poor customer service

Summary: I have had this coffee maker for just under a year, and would characterize my usage as 'light' (once a weekend)... It makes great coffee, but is poorly constructed. When pulling the carafe out to pour a cup of coffee recently, the metal band holding the handle to the carafe came loose causing the handle to un-clip; coffee and glass EVERYWHERE ! It appears that the screw holding the band in place stripped through the plastic of the handle.
Summary: This is our 2nd Krups Grind and Brew. Our first one ended up breaking twice - first time was under warranty so we got it fixed but the second time it wasn't under warranty so we just decided to get another one. There's not many choices to choose from with a grind and brew - I think Cusinart is the other brand. I'm not sure why we ended up buying this one again even though it broke two times before.
Summary: It's the best and hottest coffee I have ever had from a home coffee maker. It is not as heavy duty as I would like but that doesn't change the quality of the brew. I had read that it was a little complicated and that is true. Pretty much typical German over-engineering. However, I could still wrap my brain around it, and look forward to that fresh brewed pot when I get up in the morning. The biggest drawback is that I'm now brewing and drinking more coffee.
Summary: I have had this coffeemaker for a couple of months now, and just love it! It makes wonderful coffee, easy to clean, easy to set up. Every cup is the best, there is no guessing, the coffeemaker does it all for you! The only thing that could be improved is the carafe drips horribly, I have to pour my coffee over the sink and when I fill the water, I have to put a towel down to catch the water drips. Otherwise, it is the best maker I have ever had and I have had a few!
