Beware...Krups provides VERY poor customer service

Summary: I have had this coffee maker for just under a year, and would characterize my usage as 'light' (once a weekend)... It makes great coffee, but is poorly constructed. When pulling the carafe out to pour a cup of coffee recently, the metal band holding the handle to the carafe came loose causing the handle to un-clip; coffee and glass EVERYWHERE ! It appears that the screw holding the band in place stripped through the plastic of the handle.
Summary: This machine makes the best tasting coffee we have ever brewed. We had a Cuisinart Grind and Brew before, never with any problems, but I really wanted a burr grinder and when the Cuisinart finally gave out the search for a new machine was on. After much research, I chose the Krupps KM7000. There were some negative reviews, but overall it looked like the best fit for us.
Summary: I HAD the Krups Grind and Brew. While it was still under warranty, it just stopped heating and brewing the coffee. So, I contacted customer service and they said that I should send it to their repair center. I paid about $16 to ship it there. After sorting out receipts issues and having to prove (yet again) that this coffee maker was in fact still under warranty, they agreed to fix it.
Summary: This is our 2nd Krups Grind and Brew. Our first one ended up breaking twice - first time was under warranty so we got it fixed but the second time it wasn't under warranty so we just decided to get another one. There's not many choices to choose from with a grind and brew - I think Cusinart is the other brand. I'm not sure why we ended up buying this one again even though it broke two times before.
Summary: This is a great grind and brew (had cuisinart prior). we use it every day. The only real issue is the carafe -- if you lift the lid with your thumb and pour, no problem, but if you don't it leaks all over the place. A stupid design flaw in the carafe that they could easily fix. As for the "spraying of coffee grounds" -- never --a little coffee dust and there's always a tsp in the chamber, but it falls into the filter the next time you use it (assuming you follow the...
Agree with all the other reviews..great coffee until it breaks

Summary: As many others have commented, it makes great coffee...until it breaks. I am on my 3rd, yes 3rd Krups KM7000 coffemaker and this one just died on me after about 6 months. The first died after about a year, second after about a month. The electronics in it goes kaput and the hot plate/brewer dies and won't get hot again. I find it incomprehensible how Krups can continue to sell this model with these known defects.
Summary: We used the Krups Grind and Brew for one year (14 months to be exact) and it made very tasty coffee. The hot plate and glass pot were nothing to write home about, usually burning the coffee after an hour or so. But we usually had almost finished the pot by then (or left for work). The grinding is very loud too. If others in your house sleep in on weekends, it sucks to have to debate whether you should wake them up in order to get your first cup.
Summary: Product worked great, but only for 14 months. The product has a lot of moving parts so can be complicated to use, but if set up properly worked as designed. I would look for a better built product that will last longer.
