Summary: I've had three other grind and brew machines before Krups, and this Krups machine has them beat hands down. I had a Cuisinart Grind & Brew for about 4 years before it died. I loved the fresh ground beans and it made a great cup of coffee. Trouble was, the steam would get into the grinding chamber and chute and the residual grounds would get all gummy and jam up the machine. Cleaning was a pain and after four years, I was pretty much done with Cuisinart.
Summary: Remember when appliances lasted 25-30 years, and you finally got rid of them just to get a newer model that had more features, looked better or because you had remodeled your kitchen? Well, I'm sure you realize by now that refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers and microwaves all have much shorter lives than they used to. Coffeemakers also seem pretty short-lived nowadays, as I can testify to. I have recently purchased my third Krups Grind and Brew.
Summary: We replaced our previous auto-grind coffee maker with this one. Our $300 CoffeeTEAM Therm (Model #455) by Capresso just couldn't make strong coffee. We had taken to pre-grinding half a filter's worth just to get drinkable coffee. What an expensive lesson that was. We've had the Krups KM7005 for a month now and what a difference! Set at "Medium" strength we get a very nice full-flavored cup without any additional work required.
Well worth the buy, but add a 3 year warrantee for piece of mind,

Summary: So far, so good! This baby makes a delicious cup 'o joe. It took us a few pots to get all the variables to our liking. We initially felt the coffee was too strong, even on the lightest strength setting. We found that it's perfect to our taste if you put in 10 cups of water, but set it to grind only 8 cups of coffee.
Summary: so far great machine to grind fresh coffee beans and brew in the same machine.i was tired of expesive kcups and useing a seperate grinder for my beans so far so good a touch noisey but i can live with that easy to clean also.
Summary: I purchased this looking for the perfect solution of convenience and great coffee, however, didn't end up with either. First- I had the similar problem to several other reviewers. After grinding the coffee, the machine proceeds to SPRAY THE GROUNDS ALL OVER THE COUNTER. I would say 30% of what was ground never made it into the basket.
Summary: I bought the Krups KM7000 through Amazon.com and have had it for a few days. This is my first grind and brew machine, so I cannot compare against other grind-and-brew machines. Although, I've owned a stand-alone blade grinder and a typical drip coffee maker for a long time. THE FACTS: The bean hopper holds enough coffee to make 2-3 full pots of coffee. The bean grinder has 5 settings for the fineness of the grind, from fine to coarse.
Well designed grind & brew system - but flawed electrical system

Summary: ---- UPDATE May 2010 --- I am changing the original enthusiastic 5-star review to a 1-star. The original unit suffered the same fate as many have noted in their reviews - the heating element suddenly ceases to work. The problem appears to be a fusible link that will eventually fail even though there is no short or other problem in the electrical system to cause the failure.
