An excellent design that balances functionality and compactness—and makes great coffee.

Summary: So far, the best coffee maker I've had. This is our second KRUPS coffee maker, replacing one in which the heating plate corroded and eventually killed the unit. This model has a stronger plate with a thicker, tougher coating. We've never had a KRUPS unit that didn't make excellent coffee, this one is no exception—and I'm an unapologetic "coffee snob." The quality of your coffee depends more on the quality of your coffee and water than on the coffee maker.
Summary: Hmmm. What do I say? I've been through three of these in about three years. First one just stopped working..but was still under warranty and, to Krups credit, they sent me a brand new one. Then, just past warranty expiration, the top wouldn't close - the latch that holds it closed broke. Because I really like the look and its size (it's very hard to find coffee makers than aren't too tall or oversized) I ordered another. So far, it is OK.
Summary: This coffee maker is exactly as advertised. It is German designed which is great and made a nice strong cup of coffee. However, there was a chemical taste to the coffee that I could not get rid of no matter what I did. I finally returned it. I assume because it's made in China, they used some type of inferior and potentially hazardous materials that the German designers never intended.
Summary: I've been using Krups coffee makers for many years. I bought this to replace an older model, thinking it would be an upgrade. For some reason, the coffee has a terrible, chemical/metallic taste. I've run water through repeated, including a vinegar cleaning. I've tried different coffees; I even brewed coffee in both the old and new Krups at the same time, and the old coffee maker produced great coffee while the new KM611D50 was undrinkable.
Summary: This is my second KRUPS of this model. My old one was black.I really dislike this machine. it is not the same as my old one.I cannot see the water level marks change color.they are too dark......I really dislike it.
Summary: Researching coffee makers is difficult because they're not built to last a decade or so, like in the past. I know first hand that coffeemakers, regardless of the brand, are going to fail, some sooner than others. Having said that, I have come back to Krups again, they make the absolute best tasting coffee. My last Krups, a slightly different model, held up well but is being replaced because the carafe has a slight crack in it.
Summary: On the second machine now, both made the worst tasting (Burnt plastic) coffee I've ever had. Krupps is very nice and replaced the maker right away but I still have the plastic smell and taste. I tried cleaning with vinegar, rinsing with baking soda and several pots of just clean water but no improvement.
