Summary: This model is no longer sold retail so when my old one died I had to get a replacement on eBay. It is very simple to use and the "one-pot-does-it-all";: you fill it with water, pour it, and then it is a sealed thermos which keeps your coffee warm for hours without a burner.
Summary: I've owned it for 5 years. Has all the functions I need and none I don't. It's programmable and has a single cup setting. You can turn off the "coffee's ready!" beep and it shuts down if it's programmed to brew but doesn't have any water. The carafe keeps the water hot for hours. Oh yeah, it brews a great, hot cup of coffee. We actually only use it as a single brew machine since my wife and I prefer different strength coffee.
Summary: I am hooked on the concept of directly brewing coffee into a thermal carafe. Stays drinkable temperature well into the afternoon. Only downside - difficulty understanding how to work the automatic timer for making at night to brew in the AM
The coffee enthusiast will enjoy this at relatively low price!

Summary: Purchased after review at another site. This is, as represented, an improvement in the drip coffee maker of 5 years ago. Reportedly the temperature and drip rate of the water permits more thorough extraction of flavor from fresh ground beans. Construction is sound, the drip basin is easily cleaned, The carafe keeps the coffee warm (I have not attempted to assess the longevity of temperature) and it is nicely programmed to create single servings of coffee with a slow drip...
Summary: Nice looking Coffee Maker which makes great coffee. Only negative is the shape of the pot. It is hard to get the last cup out, you must turn the pot upside down. 2 months later and I have to update my review - it overflowed once and then stopped working.
Summary: This unit makes coffee - IN A HURRY - 3-4 minutes, and the taste quality is excellant. The Carafe is the problem! It's "globular configuration" (almost completely ROUND) interior adds to the difficulty in pouring; especially, pouring fresh water into the reservior. The rather large opening (in which the lid sits during brewing) pours into an even SMALLER spout, rendering the pouring spout incapable of handling the flow, and I find myself pouring water all over the...
Summary: Makes an excellent cup of coffee ... but, one of the first times I ran it, I got water on the control buttons. It shorted out everything and took 8 hours in front of a fan before it would work again.
Summary: When you wake up in the morning, all what you look for that drop taste of coffee, and you want it fast, and hot, mmmm. Thats what I like about this (krups), To the last drop. You are working and busy, and when you need it it still hot and ready for me. Thats what I like of the coffee machine, just program it and go to sleep, it is ready for you when ever you wake up, that fresh cup is ready for me.
Summary: The Krups FMF5 coffee maker makes perfect cups of coffee. I wanted a thermal, stainless steel maker and this fit the order. It is a very nice looking appliance. This is so easy to use. I only use the on/off switch. I do like the tones to tell me the coffee is ready and then tell me the maker is turning off.
Summary: The Krups FMF5 is the best coffee maker I've found that includes a stainless thermal carafe. Brew time for 10 cups is under 7 minutes. Brew temp is a steady 185 degrees Fahrenheit. It is easy to use and easy to clean. I would prefer a higher brew temp but the 185 degrees produces a very good cup of coffee. It is a little shy of being 'excellent' due to its brew temp but, for my money, the Krups FMF5 is the best coffee maker on the market for the features it contains.
