Summary: I purchased the coffee maker because of its brand history. Unfortunately, the water isn't hot enough. When freshly made the water for a cup of coffee is all right, but it rapidly cools in the carafe. The "dripless" carafe sometimes drips all over the place. Although I use the bold feature and add extra coffee, I still can't get a really good coffee taste. Frankly, I have been sadly surprised with this coffee maker.
Summary: I've had an Amazon account for about 10 years and never reviewed or rated a product before. I didn't buy this on Amazon but I'm using this forum to vent my disgust for this product. I didn't even buy this, it's just the coffee pot we have at work. I'm completely floored to find out it's $100, You could buy 10 $10 coffee pots, give 9 of them away and still be in better shape than owning this one. Many reviews are complaining about the leaky carafe.
Summary: I came looking for reviews about the thermal carafe, not necessarily the whole machine, since we broke glass one. The machine is easy to use,and it makes great coffee. We are ordering a new glass carafe and also ordering the thermal carafe that you can purchase separately, since we are always having to make two pots of coffee. I also wanted to let folks know out there, that you also DO NOT have to replace or have at all the filters that go in the water holder.
Summary: We received this coffee maker as a gift in Summer 2011. As many other reviewers observe, the carafe was extremely faulty, constantly dripping. I finally (December 2013) called KitchenAid about this, and they told me that they had redesigned the carafe. Even though the machine was out of warranty, they sent me a new one, and it no longer drips at all. I'm assuming that more recently produced makers come with this new design.
Summary: You'd be hard pressed to find a bigger pile of crap for 100 bucks. It leaks all over the counter, the carafe dribbles coffee everywhere, and the coffee isn't even hot... Total trash.... The Customer service is great though.. They are sending me a different model to replace it.... I hope it's better....
Summary: This is easily one of the worst coffee makers ever designed. I don't understand how KitchenAid could have engineered a prototype of this without trying to use it before deciding to manufacture it. 1. Biggest complaint: The carafe does NOT keep the coffee hot! From other reviews I see that this could be because the water isn't very hot to begin with, but it has to be more than that. 2.
Summary: The coffee pot is compact and very nice looking. It makes good coffee. It is hard to pour from the thermos without spilling. It must be difficult to make a thermos that keeps the coffee hot and still pours easily. What is unacceptable is that they did not use stainless steel screws on the lid that covers the coffee basket. Within 4 days they appeared to be rusty because this area stays moist when the pot is stored.
Summary: The coffee maker itself was good: hot coffee, carafe kept it hot, easy to work with ... But when it came to pouring a cup of coffee everything changed. I had to be very careful to pour very slowly and at just the right tilt or else the coffee dribbled outside the carafe and all over the counter.
