Summary: I'm giving the Keurig two stars but only for it's POTENTIAL to be a great product. I bought the first one May 30th and had an irreparable "prime" defect 14 days, yes, fourteen DAYS, later. Thank heaven for Costco! They exchanged the brewer without any hesitation. BUT I've had the second brewer for exactly 15 days and the "prime" error has started AGAIN! This is NOT a consumer use error or a failure of maintenance by the owners.
Pros: convenience/ coffee choices/ fresh cup each time.
Summary: I have had a Keurig brewer for 3 years. It finally wouldn't work at all, so I replaced it. The replacement is awful. There was a plastic taste that could not be removed DESPITE brewing 2 gals of white vinegar through. It still tastes like plastic and gives me a stomach ache after one sip. I called Keurig, and that is their only solution - to brew white vinegar through. I go online and this seems to be a pervasive problem. Why don't they figure this out?
Cons: cannot get a decent cup of coffee w plastic taste
Summary: Given as a Xmas present. Had problems within a few weeks. Keurig replaced it which also had problems. They replaced the replacement & this one seems to already have problems within 2 days. So 3 Keurigs & none with glitch-free performance.
Pros: great coffee when it works. convenient when it...you know the rest.
Cons: doesn't always work. has prime error messages doesn't brew or only brews a tiny bit
Summary: I bought this because of the bad-ish reviews on the Cuisinart brewers. I had a Cuisinart for 7 years before it died. I've been using this Keurig for 4 months now, and I wish I'd taken a chance on the Cuisinart. The Keurig works perfectly as advertised with K-cups and the coffee tastes great. But I also like to grind my own premium coffees from time to time like Kona, Blue Mountain, etc.
Summary: Really love this product, however it is difficult to really recommend this product if after every cup you get the message to PRIME.. I've even rewashed/rinsed things and literally have used this about 25 times for a single cup.
Pros: great variety/selection of beverages
Cons: having a issue less than 30 some days after i buy the kcups are a little more expensive than needed
Summary: I would only recommend buying this particular unit if you buy it from Costco, because like most are saying here this Keurig is only good for at best 1 year. I bought one for my mother about 5 years ago then shortly thereafter bought one for us. Between the two I was taking them back on average probably every 90 days, one might last 6-7 months, the other just 30 days and so on. I think we had ONE of these that may have lasted 1 full year.
Pros: convenience cant beat it perfectly good cup of coffee
Summary: Well, I should have listened to the reviews. We got the dreaded Prime message after a short week of use. It is easily fixed by taking the water tank out and reseating it, but it has to be done after every cup, what a ridiculous hassle. Other family members have different models of Keurig, not the Platinum, and haven't had this issue. I called Keurig, and they readily admitted the problem, and told us they would send us a new one that was "tested" in the lab.
Pros: makes a good fast cup of coffee with no mess.
Summary: Loved this brewer until one of the internal water transport tubes broke open and hot water poured out from the bottom of the machine. Lost my receipt so can't return it. Could have fixed it if I could have opened the unit up, but it is not manufactured so that it can be repaired.
Summary: I purchased this unit 7 months ago. I average a cup a day and really like the convenience of the machine. The downfall comes with the timer. Initially, after setting it to manual brew to turn off after an hour, it never did turn off unless I turned it off at the power button. The automatic timer turned on and off just as set for the first 5 months. Then suddenly the manual timer shut off began to work correctly but the auto on and off have quit working.
