Summary: This makes the best coffee I have ever had at home. I have the jura ena5 for decaf and the Impressa Z5 for regular. I love the ease of use for the Z5 because there is no need to move the cup or wait for steam in order to make capachino and machiatos. It makes a great matte/creama and sometimes I don't even add the milk. I have been getting the message "fill system" ever since I put in a filter.
Produces the BEST coffee drinks but KNOW how to fix "error 8"
23 June 2011
Summary: This machine is like the porsche of coffeepots. However, like a complicated, fine tuned machine, you really need to know about maintainence. READ the owners manual or you will be disappointed and not get your favorite coffee AFTER you have been entirely hooked. Frustration rules if you don't know how to fix the notorious "error 8" that will block you from getting your drinks - this machine produces the BEST coffee drinks BUT watch out for used coffee grains blocking...
good one, but it was scratched...no explanation...

Summary: I bought this as an repurbished condition.... when I purchase the other items in amazon that was look like new... this one is scratched and some gab at back pannel, also some bin grinding smell is still there(in side of bin cabinet)... but coffee is best...
Summary: Like others, I was hesitant to make such a large investment given the repair issues that have been mentioned. I have owned this machine for five months and have had zero problems, although admittedly it does not get much of a workout on a daily basis. The one time I thought I had a problem, it turned out to be operator error (I had to refer back to the book and DVD).
Summary: My Z5 has been in continual use for several years, making 5 to 10 cups a day. Someone online sells a special screwdriver head- needed to open up the machine. With it, I've taken it all apart and fixed the various problems that occur. Those problems have included: water lines clogging- needing decalcification step- despite using clearyl cartriges. coffee ground dust gradually gums up moving parts- making motors work harder. sensor switches getting sticky.
Summary: I have owned Capresso machines for about the last 8 years or so. Just replaced my Z5. It is expensive but if coffee is important to you, it's worth it. I can't tell you how much coffee we wasted making a pot at a time the old way. That drove me crazy. Single serve is the way to go. I finally figured out how to make capuchino's with the Z5 and it is so easy! I've got a family of 5 and everyone drinks them now so our machine gets alot of use.
Summary: After returning both a Saeco Primea Touch Plus (it gave me an error message after less than 2 months, at which time I was told to return the machine to the manufacturer for repair), and the new DeLonghi Gran Dama, which has a serious problem with the milk carafe (it doesn't fit properly on the machine - I had this problem with not one, but two machines), I think I've finally found the answer.
Summary: update feb. 2009: this is the best espresso maker on the market,, we have now used it for a couple of years making an avg of 20 coffees espressos or cappicinos a day. after all this use we have had no problems with the system. it froths our milk it makes great coffee and as i said a couple of years a go my problem is filling the water container all the time. i no longer use the water filters as i now have a commercial r.o. filtration system in my home.
