Works Good if You Like Luke Warm Coffee

Rod Nutt "rodnutt", Amazon
16 August 2013
  • Summary: Very disappointing based off the reviews for this item. I need to brew just 2 cups of coffee/day (one batch) and with the 1-4 cup setting I thought it could make a hot cup of coffee. Barely drinkable at best with it being barely warm at all, not sure if this defective or that coffee brewers these days are made to brew much larger batches. This is a great concept so I gave it 2 stars but if your coffee isn't hot then what's the point.

What to say--adequate at best.

Gina "Momma of Three", Amazon
23 March 2013
  • Summary: So, this is my third Hamilton Beach 12 cup coffee maker. I did really love the last two which lasted about 2 years each. This will, sadly, be the last one I purchase. I first came to this brand from Krups. After breaking a carafe too many times, I realized that I, perhaps, am a clutz and should seek an alternative. These coffee makers really are great.

Save your Money.

TI, reviews.lowes.com

  • Summary: I have owned two of the older versions of the Hamilton Beach Brew Station and was hoping this new design would be even better. Was I wrong. As stated by others it is very messy due to condensation forming on the basket and the valve is set to far back creating spillage and splatter if cup rim is curved. The trigger bar is flimsy and does not always open the coffee valve. Filling a 16 oz. travel mug is virtually impossible and I have burned my fingers twice.

  • Summary: I HAVE HAD THIS BREW STATION ABOUT 8 MOS. FIRST RIGHT AFTER I GOT IT THE POT CRACKED. THE COMPANY LET ME HAVE A NEW ONE FOR $6. I SHOULDN'T HAVE HAD TO PAY ANYTHING, BUT I DID. FOR THE LAST 3 MOS. IT HAS BEEN LEAKING ALL OVER MY COUNTER. I KEEP IT CLEANED OUT ABOUT EVERY TWO WEEKS, BUT IT STILL LEAKS. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE!

  • Summary: Makes great coffee and great features but when you try to dispense the coffee you have to use a smaller cup to fill your travel mug and with the spout being to far back instead of being centered coffee goes everywhere, even when you are careful. Have tried the next model up at a friends house and the spout is properly placed on that model but Lowe's doesn't carry it. Will be returning unit.

HAVE A SPONGE NEARBY!!

Jeff Berger "oboedad", Amazon
9 March 2010
  • Summary: I should have carefully read the reviews "prior to" placing the order. While the coffee does brew to near perfection (that's per my wife), the design of this product is relatively poor. The flow valve is placed TOO FAR BACK, so it's virtually impossible to pour a cup of coffee (with one had or two) without it running ALL OVER THE COUNTERTOP. The manufacturer's photograph showing the usage of a metal travel cup is, without a doubt, FALSE REPRESENTATION!!

Not So Much

Selective, Amazon
22 November 2009
  • Summary: It's a great idea, but just doesn't fit the bill. This is basically a two piece coffee maker. Water is poured into the lower reservoir and the brewed coffee is transferred to the top. To receive coffee, a cup or mug depresses an elongated button on the front of the unit and dispensed much like a fountain soda at a convenience store.

Bring Back the Original Brew Station!

J. Fraser, Amazon
13 November 2009
  • Summary: I loved my original brew station by HB, but this one has serious design flaws! The carraffe that you pour the water into spills all over if you pour it on the big metal heater in the middle, and the stream of coffee is set too far back. when i pour my coffee if i'm not holding the whole contraption with both hands the coffee doesn't even come close to going in the mug!

Awkward, plasticky, hard to clean, burns coffee, but its got a slick one handed operation.

D, Amazon
14 February 2014
  • Summary: I had my doubts about a coffee maker with a heating element. They never work and I was right. Got this two months ago because it was on sale and it makes 12 cups. After figuring out where the water goes and where the coffee goes. It makes coffee, and then it burns it. The only thing I like was that is one handed operation that is super easy. (But then the speed that it pours is slowish) If you don't like burnt coffee, AVOID.
