Better than most 6 cuppers.
4 January 2010
Summary: Makes great coffee. I also have a 12 cup Brewstation that I love. This one is a little slow and light weight. If it's not against the wall it moves when you get a cup. The top is flimsy. Overall good. Better than most 6 cuppers. I love no pot.
Summary: I got this coffeemaker for Christmas, as my old Hamilton Beach one-cup brewstation had finally died. I was very disappointed to find that if you put the entire 6 cups of water in it, the coffeemaker will brew all 6 cups immediately. What makes this any different than a regular coffeemaker?? I was also really upset to find that after just one brewing, the plastic cover had warped enough so that it would no longer close all the way. Nice...
Summary: I love the availability of the coffee maker/delivery. It is always quick to 'perk' the coffee, quick to pour, and quick to shut down after allowing me time to finish off the coffee in the reservoir. I have read some reviews that point out the structure is somewhat clumsy in design because the water spills over the sides when you fill it.
Summary: My sister in-law loves these brew stations and after several years of service her's finally gave up. I was pleased to find this 6 cup unit which is just perfect for her camper. Always a hot cup of coffee and never burned.
Summary: Nice compact unit, fits under my shelf like I wanted and no carafe to break. I had the 12 cup maker of the same make but it began leaking where the hot plate was. The way they made this it looks like I won't have that problem with this unit.
Summary: I also bought one of these expecting it to make more coffee that a 4 cup coffee maker of another brand only to discover that it makes a little less - about 3.75 cups. A cup is a standard unit of measure equaling 8 ounces. It is a nice little coffee maker but be aware that you will get 3-4 cups of coffee from it.
Summary: this is great coffee maker, its quick, has a small footprint so it doesn't take up valuable space on your counter. i no more than push the button and i'm enjoying my first cup of good old starbucks at my desk. you can go wrong with this unit. make sure you run a little vinegar and water through it periodically if you have hard water like we do here.
Summary: I bought this coffee maker for my dad, and it seemed to work well with the BIG exception that it does NOT make 6 cups of coffee as stated! It makes 3, and not a drop more. I called Hamilton-Beach and the rep gave me some song and dance about using international standards, their "cup" equals 4 oz. I tried to be as polite as possible, but told her that in the United States, a cup equals 8 ounces!
Summary: I like this coffee maker - it's a small size and does a decent job of making coffee in small quantities. I don't find any issues with leaking, as others have mentioned, with the drip arm. But one problem I do find is that since the coffee comes directly in content with a heated metal plate in the coffee tank (the actual heating element is in the water chamber area beneath and makes contact with this metal plate), the coffee can taste burned fairly quickly after brewing.
