Summary: I purchased a used maker.. That was a mistake. The maker arrived with a small crack at the base. Repaired that with glue. Then when i attempted to make coffee, the water leaked out all over the counter.. I was so outdone that I went to Walmart and purchased a new one.
Excerpt: Buyer beware. Open box and plugged it in LED display did not work. Instructions were difficult to understand and did not explain the varius features of the product. Water was difficult to pour into the unit. Produced luke warm coffee and leaked. This unit is far below acceptable standards. Customer relations was terrible when called.
Summary: After going through 3 Mr. Coffee four cup makers (the digital timers died) I tried the 6 cup Hamilton Beach Brew Station. It makes good coffee but preparing the maker is a bit complicated until you learn the drill. Also, it takes time to get everything ready to go again. Also, it's a bit irritating that there is no light behind the digital readout; however, Mr. Coffee did away with a lighted digital readout too. Too expensive, I guess.
Summary: I bought the hot pink version, #48271, from the after school clearance aisle for $11. Most of the comments about this style of Hamilton Beach Brewmaster (regardless of the model #) are right on. the pros: +It makes 2 travel mugs of coffee. +The coffee is hot and delicious! +It was worth the $11 sale price. +Easy to program. +Small footprint and it looks good. +No carafe! +No drips. +The hot pink color will become a conversation starter! Where to start.
Summary: Hey I'm lovin my 6 cup brewstation...and I know a trick to keep coffee tasting fabulous...place about 3/8 of an inch of water into the coffee warming station (the top level...under the basket)...that way the coffee isn't hitting on the element and scorching!! I was going to return because of the awful scorched taste, but this is really working for me. I get three 14 oz coffees this way, and they all taste great..
Summary: I just purchased this coffee maker and it does make 6 cups of coffee. Other reviewers have no clue what a cup of coffee is evidently. Coffee makers are 4 oz. = a cup, not 8 oz. My previous coffee maker was a 12 cup and I only ever made coffee up to the 6 cup line on the side of the pot. This coffee maker makes the exact same amount. I use the same mug and I get the same amount. This coffee maker is perfect and makes great coffee.
Summary: Just purchased this coffee maker and is perfect. Not too small or too big. To the other posts claiming that it makes so little coffee, I call BS. I use a bigger than average coffee mug and I get 3 full mugs of coffee, which is ideal for me. It is a little on the cheap side (what isn't now a days), but still a good coffee maker overall.
