Summary: THIS MODEL (AROMA EXPRESS) IS THE BEST COFFEE MAKER I HAVE EVER OWNED. AND, AT AGE 72, I HAVE OWNED A FEW! IT IS COMPACT, UNLIKE THE POD OR K-CUP MODELS, IT DOESN'T TAKE UP A LARGE PORTION OF YOUR COUNTER. IF YOU LIVE IN NYC LIKE I DO, KITCHEN COUNTER SPACE IS PRECIOUS! IT IS EASY TO FILL, EASY TO USE. HEATS THE COFFEE SUPER HOT. THE GLASS CARAF HAS NEVER CHIPPED OR BROKEN. I USE IT EVERY OTHER DAY AND HAVE HAD THIS ONE FOR ALMOST TEN YEARS.
Summary: I had a Hamilton Beach Aroma Express 5-Cup Coffeemaker. I ordered a new one because the hot plate started to peel. I am not happy with the glass pot on the new coffeemaker because every time I pour coffee from the pot, it spills onto my counter top. I compared the old and new glass pots and found that the old glass pot has a deeper lip and was better for pouring. I don't remember making a mess with the old pot.
Summary: This coffeemaker is OK (not gourmet, but acceptable) as far as the taste of the coffee, and I have not experienced the problems that other reviewers have had when pouring coffee from the decanter. But, within a few months after I bought this machine, the black coating on the hot plate began to peel.
Summary: I bought this elsewhere and have been using it 6 months. The other reviews that complain about the carafe spilling while pouring are correct. Either be patient or pour over the sink. The filter basket was a bit awkward to get used to but once I did, it hasn't really been a problem to attach/remove. My biggest problem has been grounds in the coffee. As water drips into the basket, it splashes back, getting grounds all over the top and sides of the basket.
Summary: Love this coffee maker. I have had 3 of them now, and they make great coffee - and very quickly. It makes 5 cups and is easy to clean - looks nice on the countertop and is not too large. My 12 cup maker I use infrequently as it takes much longer to make coffee and on a daily basis this little kitchen appliance is perfect! Price is reasonable as well! Would buy another for sure!
Summary: I did alot of research before buying this coffee maker for my travel trailer, it consistently received high marks for making a very hot cup of coffee (very important) and was at a price more than half off of the most expensive model. A coffee maker and coffee maker only, no clocks, no beeps, no grinder, salt shaker, or mandolin attachments, it makes coffee only and does it well.
