Summary: Have had this coffee maker for at least 2 years and it's dependable, made to last and the best investment I've ever made in a coffee machine, even at the steep price I paid of over $1000. I used to buy cheaper machines and if I added up the cost of continual replacement of machines, De:longhi in particular, they cost me more in the long run than it cost me to purchase a quality machine like Gaggia. I highly recommend it!
Summary: I bought my husband this espresso machine for Christmas and he loves it. The reason I went with this product is friends of ours have had their machine for over 2 years with no problems. Would highly recommend this machine if you are looking for an amazing espresso machine.
Summary: We have enjoyed a Platinum Vision for a couple years until recently the grinder began acting up. When I contacted Importica, the distributor in the US, for service I learned that the machine should no be used with oily beans or it will damage the grind group. There was no mention of that issue when we purchased the machine. The repair is costly and requires sending the machine out for several weeks. Very frustrating.
Summary: I did not purchase this machine from Amazon. First I was advised not to buy the milk island and agree with this advice. The machine is capable of making excellent coffee and has multiple choices to satisfy virtually every taste. You need to remember, however, that every time you change a setting, it must be saved into memory. A few minuses - the water container is rather small as is the container for used grounds and water.

Summary: I own this machine for over two years now and here is my opinion - expensive, but mediocre at best. Biggest issues (noted by other people, as well): 1). it leaks - big time (I think at the brewing group). Changed all related O-rings - didn't help. Ordered new brewing group, should arrive soon. Worse, according to customer service, it's normal. To pay $1300 for something that leaks as normal operation mode?! I consider this an insult.
Summary: At first I turned on the machine, it started a espresso and turned off in the middle and I thought, the machine is bad. Then I realized that I did not have the plug in the back of the unit all the way in. Once I set the machine up and ran a couple drinks through to adjust it I knew this machine was good. The espresso looked very close to the best with proper crema, smell and color.

Summary: Pros: -Easy to use, quick interface. Touch screen is not responsive like an iPhone, but it works. You can customize two different setting for beans that go through the grinder and 1 setting for pre-ground beans. -Once desired settings are found, this machine delivers consistently delicious shots of espresso (and more). I haven't found a chain or local shop that can beat the flavor/quality.
Loved it - at first. Poor reliability. Do NOT buy this product.

Summary: Spent over $1,000 for this machine after doing much research. Loved it at first, then the ERROR messages began. All those stories about Italian electronics appear to be true. VERY unreliable. Throws error messages constantly. Can take 10-15 minutes to make a cup of espresso with all the errors and false starts. When it worked, it worked well. Within months however, the errors started. Gaggia does NOT stand behind the items as their service is not acceptable.
